1. i bought one of Tony's Matamp cabs, same as this one and its a stonker! best 4x10 i have heard or owned. If i had the room or cash i would snap this up. Someone gonna get an amazing cab here.
2. i used to have the 410hlf and my matamp 410 owns it! Much tighter bottom end and it pushes some massive air and really sings. I used to turn the tweeter off on my ampeg and im glad this doesnt have one as to me they are pointless as i dont like twingy fizzy stuff!
3. these are the coolest cabs in the universe!! I have a 4x10 in exactly the same livery and its the best cab i have owned. This is a bargain for the 6x10 version. If i had the cash i would be sorely tempted to chop my 4x10 in against one of these. Shouldnt be here long hopefully as it will keep tempting me! Someone buy this monster quick
4. JESUS! i paid £1000 for mine, these are amazing basses!! If i had the cash i would be all over this as i regret selling mine. Someone get a bargain!
5.
That is an excellent post if I may say so. Pretty much encapsulates the entire debate. I've never personally lusted after a skyscraper stack any more than I lusted after an 8x12 Marshall stack when I was a guitarist. Aside from that though, I reckon you've captured it nicely.
Thanks lefty, this was probably my first post that actually made any sense to anyone haha. More importantly, with the amount of different cakes coming to this debate, we will need an 8x10 on its side to act as a cake table to fit em on! so they still have some use Lol.
6. lol didnt think of that! its pretty modern to me! i been using bosting old Ampeg and Trace cabs for years before this and its lightweight small with a massive sound so compared to the old beasts...... but i guess compared to these shoe boxed sized rigs for the dog n duck its not very modern is it. lol.
7. thought i would bring my experience of big old 8x10s and newer smaller boxes to this conversation. The OP is totally right in one respect, standing infront of your double 8x10 rig is the best thing in the world and your bass just sounds immence. i used to love it! great feeling. Also it doesnt have to be ear bleeding loud just caus its massive, its just ace feeling your sound coming from more than just your knees. On the other hand, i have gone from 8x10 to a single Matamp 4x10 loaded with neo speakers which i have never used before this cab, and i can safely say i will never use a different setup again. Unless someone offers me another one to stick on top!! . The amount of sheer volume and punch you get from one little modern box is amazing and baffles me everytime i plug in. In this day and age you dont NEED a big fridge as a half sized one will do the job and probably better for everybody. But it still feels cool as fook doing it
8. so THATS how you play a 6 stringer! always wondered what them extra strings did cool tune
9. my word, as impressive as his playing is, him and his mates wear some friggin disgusting shirts! Jazz baby!
10. I chose the haussels as I didn't like the hifi edge the delanos give off and all the bumf on the haussel website about them sounding more vintage drew me in. to me they do have more of a vintage/traditional vibe but they absolutely rawk. they are pure quality mate. your p pickup has the smaller pole pieces so you may get a more trad p sound out of it compared to the one I have as it has the larger poles and just screams . I'm always gonna buy haussels if I ever change or buy another bass
11. nice one dude, buying a Sandberg is the right choice! i fecking love mine, i bought it without trying it and it was just perfect. Good choice on the Haussel pickups, i got them and they are just incredible. 5 string PM for me next i reckon! yum yum
12. when did you get that back mate? I will give you a tenner for it.
13. if i bought this, would it make me +++AWESOME++++? lol
14. can i offer you my soul? the missus? my 2 cars? lol That is one seriously nice axe.
15. for some reason when i clicked this i was expecting some photos of you taking the old girl to the cinema or for a romantic curry or something
16. i can vouch for the valve amps and any of their cabs, all good. Just buy a forklift to move it all makes life eaiser.
17. yeah i wouldnt let one of those go for less than £350. I love these guitars, my friend has a few of them. The Explorer one he has is just as Gibson quality as themselves! pure quality.
18. just like everyone else has said really. you may be putting your eq on the amp flat but its still putting out the amps own tone as well as your bass. I thought the same with my Sandberg's pre amp but when i did a DI into my recording rig from the bass, it sounded very sterile and lifeless. Ran it through the pre amp of my V4 and it sprung to life. I wouldnt underestimate what your amp is actually doing.
19. 2nd vote of confidence in Grass Roots stuff. My old Geetarist bought the super strat guitar with floating trem that looks like the ones Kirk Hammet uses and it was amazing. Real quality stuff.
20. used to be my cab, can really rate this, awesome bit of kit. Sorry it didnt work out for you Paul.
21.
That's half the fun. Pedal-scrooge!
haha got me there! I would love an armoury of pedals but i just know they would never get used. Most of the time it wouldnt make a difference to what im playing anyway. But if i did have the money to burn on a pedal, i would choose an Oxide Iron Ether fuzz pedal as you can never have enough filth.
22. I wouldnt buy any effects or pedals until he/you know that one is needed. Anything other is just spunking money for the sake of it. Sorry for being a spoil sport.
23. yeah the Warwick Jonas Helborg stuff is just crazy money. aint it around £1500 for just the pre amp?
24. i always sort my listings by price decending, really once you get down to the £45 odd quid that they charge, if you are looking at amps, your gonna be lucky to find anything around that or under so when i hit the roqsolids i know i have come to the end! haha.
25. @£650 i cannot believe this is still here! awesome looking geetar mate.
