1. ABM 500 RC EVO III chrome rack mount head for sale. What can I say, practically brand new and in immacualte condition, used live twice and once in the studio, I am sticking with my Aguilar kit so this is not required. Please note that this is the Chrome rack mount version which uses 2 x 19" spaces. See the Ashdown site at http://www.ashdownmusic.com/bass/detail.as...n=abm&ID=55 for more details. Basically 500 Watts @ 4 Ohms, valve drive, compression, sub harmonics blah, blah, blah, I’m sure that you all know about this amp. I’m asking for a reasonable £300. Any questions let me know
 2. Fender Jazz Bass made in Japan serial number E857786 which dates it somewhere between 1884-7. Natural wood body with original white 3 ply scratch plate and Maple neck with block inlays. Excellent condition for its age with minor dings and scratches that you would naturally associate with a bass over 20 years old. On a negative point there is an area by the rear strap lock where the lacquer has broken away from the body about the size of a 10 pence piece (see pictures) also there is some lifting of the lacquer on the fret board which I understand is common with these old basses. Other than that its all original and I also have the chrome cover for the front pickup. Just for information and in case you ask, there is no bridge cover as they were never supplied or fitted on this model for some reason, this is confirmed by the fact that there are no fixing holes in the body. I’m asking a very reasonable £500 for this lovely classic bass. Any questions please ask.
 3.
Just a little thing I noticed whilst lusting at the piccys, it has a bullet truss rod adjuster neck and the latter scratch plate to accomodate the newer bottom adjuster truss rod, but all the same, beautiful.
Yep, thanks for that, it was mentioned in the main text, but worth pointing out.
 4. This classic 2 band Musicman Stingray is in full working order and has been used regularily for most of its life, however for the past few months my Stingray 5 has been my favourite so this one has to go. I'm generally having a clear out so my old Jap Jazz and ABM500RC will also be posted, so anyone wanting a deal keep your eyes open. The serial number is 29485 which dates the bass somewhere between 1989/90 and the body has some dings on it which you would expect from a 17/18 year old bass. The neck is laquered although it is well worn and most of it has worn off or down, which I feel makes it play better. I have taken some pictures and tried to show all of the marks but if anyone wants any more or would like to try the bass let me know and I will try to arrange something. They say that guitars sound better by age and this is certainly true with this one, deep, rich and with tons of punch, the sound is typical stingray..............................what more can I say? All on the bass, as far as I know, is original except the scratchplate which was changed a few years ago. I am asking a fair £650 and am willing to be flexible with delivery.
 5. I've played this bass and its stunning, sounded great last Sunday in Windsor!!!

Thank you for the kind offer, but I have just taken delivery on the somewhat tiny monster known as the Mark Bass F1. Not totally unlike the Epi in some respects. I am very happy with I am afraid! The Epi would look nice with my cab I am sure! - I think I will finally able to give up helplessly posting on EBS / Epifani / Thunderfunk threads! Cheers John, a free bump for an awesome amp that sounds as good as it looks!
Thanks Dood, come on guys a really great head, only used twice, practicaly brand new, wiil accept offers before eBay.

 13.
I have a 9V /18V battery low indicator, you can see a post about it in the retro forum low battery indicator thread It's a circuit board about 1" square, currently. The way it works is very simple: * It sits there taking a tiny amount of current, a few millionths of an amp when the battery is good. * When the battery system (9V or 18V) starts to decline, but there is still some life, a high brigthness LED starts to flash around once per second. But again the power consumption for the LED is very tiny since the LED is on for just a few millionths of a second. The eye sees that and image retention of the human eye makes it seem to be lit for longer and can easily see the flashing. So unlike some systems, where a low battery LED is turned on full, which drains the battery much faster and may even take more current than the electronics, my unit takes on average, a few 10s of millionths of amps, still an insignificant drain to indicate the battery is low. Have them in stock £25.00, with black or chrome LED surround. John
Sounds good, will have to take the electronic cavity lid off to see if the unit will fit, there's certainly no room in the battery compartment.
 14.
Hi mate, you will have to edit the FIRST post in the thread. there will be two options - quick and full edit. Choose full edit and you will be taken to the right bit. Hope this helps/works! ped
Thanks Ped
 15. Can anyone tell me how to edit a post title for example when an item has been sold how do you change the title to reflect this? Thanks John

 24. Hi Dave, Can you help me please, I have a Shuker bass with 18v electronics/pickups and my main nighmare situation is for the batteries to fail in front of a theatre full of people. To that end I change batteries way more often than I need just to be on the safe side which is getting a little expensive. Is there any way of fitting anything to the bass, maybe an LED to the rear of the battery cover which would identify when the batteries are getting low? I know that a 9v system is available at http://www.guitarelectronics.com/product/P...lectronics.html unfortunately they do not do an 18v version. Help would be much appreciated. John
 25. I am a late fourties musician who has been a member here for a while but probably due to my age find it hard to understand the abreviations. For instanace PM'd, presumably means private mail???? What the hell does BUMP mean, I really can't work that one out! Any other abreviations that someone can explain would be really helfull and would make an old man very happy instead of a happy man very old!! Ta John
