I've had several Takamine 512's, infact I have one now...
They're really well built, infact they feel indestructible
How much volume one can expect is open to question.
They're not solid top, which makes a difference I guess.
I don't really expect it to compete with an acoustic guitar.
The guitar will be louder every time, just use an amplifier.
Plugged in, they sound good, nice pre amp and good neck.
The low gloss finish is cool, no 'orrible thick gloss here...
This *must* help the tone I'd reckon, and avoids that cheapo thick laquer.
These £200-£500 guitars aren't of course as good as a Martin or whatever,
But the Takamine is a good working instrument, fairly cheap and ok unplugged.
