1. Left over from when I had a Hohner B2AV, these are one used set of Status Hot Wires and one set of used RotoSound Swing bass, plus one other 5 string set (not sure of brand)... £12 + Post at Cost.
2. That is just beautiful... I've no idea what it sounds like; versatile I'd guess
3. I would love this, but there's just no way I can get to Rayleigh...
4.
Is it sold David?
It's on hold for a few days... I'll post here if the sale falls through.
5.
Ok - my heart just stopped for a second there! Check your PM!!
Bass on Hold for Mr Rufnek
6. Here's some info on the pickups from the EMG site:- The 35P4 design has two offset coils that result in more low end with brilliant highs. It uses short, squat coils that have very little resistance and plenty of inductance and ceramic magnets are used to add clarity. The 35P4 has a natural presence, powerful lows, punchy midrange, and superior definition. The 35J model uses our J model single coil design encased in our 35 extended series housing. This model has a solid low end and a prominent midrange. Featuring a very low ratio of resistance to inductance that increases the low frequency response, the 35J still maintains the narrow aperture for that typical Jazz Bass tone.
7.
Nice..... Buy it quick someone.
This would certainly suit a bassist wanting a 'modern' sound... I'm a bit too old fashioned to get on with it really... Lovely thin thru neck though... plays really fast ;-) I won't eBay this, if no one on here wants it I'll just put it in the loft!
8. Bought from this Forum in Nov. 2007. Includes Ibanez MB100C hard case... Has gold Schaller strap locks fitted. Volume pot replaced (it was crackly). Nice inlays and it plays beautifully ;-) EMG 'J' and 'P' pickups (but you knew that!). Here's some (fairly crummy) pictures:- £335 + post at cost or collect from Nottingham.
9. Those who have PM'ed me for pics... will post them this evening
10. I have one of these sitting in a case doing nothing. It's really excellent, just that I play other basses... If anyone's interested I can post some photos etc. David ~
11. What a beautiful Bass... I'm really glad that I got it And Col is a good guy to deal with - recommended!
12. Sounds like a serious bargain to me...
13. But where would you rest your thumb..?
14. I was thinking of making a custom Jazz a while back... never got around to it though. It'd have just one bridge p/up, a scratchplate without the pickup cutout and a control plate with just the two knobs, and the ashtray fitted over the bridge.
15.
Glad to hear it's been sold! It would depress me immensely to think that no one had a home for a classic Ibanez SR.
I'm the lucky buyer... I can't wait to get it After some very crummy Fender fretless basses, I have high hopes for this one...
16.
Off topic but I see the Moderators have lifted their 3-match ban Big Beef Chief!
Woo hoo ;-)
17.
No, it didn't... I bought this bass and receive it last week but after inspecting it properly turn out not to be an all original '77 Jazz bass. A few bits had been replaced, and a few other things didn't work properly. I was buying this bass planning to keep it and get rid of my all original '78. As it was suposed to be all original, had been owned by Noel Redding and I liked it better than mine I tought it was a good investment but, because of the price and not being all original, I decided not to buy it.. I spoke to the seller about it and he said he didn't know about the parts having been replaced and the other bits not working properly, he was kind enough and understood the situation. I have to say that Chris was a top bloke to deal with, he sent me the bass with no payment upfront and the communication has been really good he even offered me a refund for the shipping I paid. I'm surprise to see it on Ebay, the bass is still sitting in my bedroom he hasn't arrange collection yet.
Blimey ;-)
18.
Hi Barrie...... PM me and i'll give you the low-down !! had 11 custom shop instruments
You gotta share it with us ;-)
19.
Ok, no longer looking for offers over £1000. What do you wise men think it is worth then?
About £500...
20. I'm away 'till Aug. 1st... if it's still around then I'll pm you.
21. £700 is a bargain for an amazing and rare bass... I'd have that like a shot if it was the four string!
22. I gotta agree, that does sound pretty naff I don't like slap at the best of times, although when played really well it can be beautiful. But too much of it just gives me a headache!
23. What a beautiful looking neck... If it wasn't metallic red (I sold a fretless USA Precision for that reason, my least favorite color) I'd have it like a shot
