1. The neck thru SRX700 (and 5 string version:- SRX705) are brilliant rock basses... The pickups are characterful, powerful, good EQ; the basses are beautifully built too. The only weak spot is the tuners. Like the man said, look out on eBay for a s/h one, around £200 - £250. So, back to the question... IMHO the pickups are good ;-)
 2. All round good guy, excellent to deal with, recommended ;-)
 3.
In your opinion?
Anything stated by anyone is obviously their opinion, surely?
 4.
Why?
I've had rows with the mods (amongst others) about querying s/h values. It's a nonsense not to be able to debate the value of a bass on this Forum.
 5.
...and I've decided I love the sound. It Rocks
It does
 6.
Last Bump... wish me luck
Did I say the last Bump..? One hour to go...
 7.
+1 i dont think you can do any harm
My first (pessimistic) thought:- The more you screw in and out of wood, the more likely it is that you strip the threads. I'd be inclined to leave well alone unless it's for a good reason. I had to have a '78 Precision repaired 'cos 2 of the 4 neck screws were stripped...
 8. +1 to the Ashdown ABM Combo... Get a 2 x 10 Combo, add a 1 x 15 cab later and you have 575w of lovely tone. Or of course you could do it another way, get a 1 x 15 combo and save up for a 4 x 10 cab for later. Or whatever... (Awaits anti Ashdown flames )
 9. I reckon that any Mr Sheen type polish would be fine. Most maple boards are laquered, and it's these I mean. Obviously don't use polish on the MM type oiled finish. Any laquered wood 'board is just the same as the body?
 10.
Only joking Dave
That's ok... I took it that way
 11.
rather have english one than a made in prc one.you will still have ashdowns warranty which by all accounts is superb.
+1 to that. However... If it's been the shop demo I'd be pissed off. If it's been in its box in the shop I'd be delighted. You did good to get a UK made one, most importantly!
 12. a drop of 3 in 1 oil is what I use sometimes.
 13.
Bloody heck, David, havng a clearout?
Certainly am More next week (probably!)
 14.
I was about to say that. I want my ATK back
It's lovely, I'm sure it'd be happy to see you again!
 15.
How does the Hohner play? I`ve fancied one of these for while as I used a 4 string one with a thrash band a while back (much to everyones amusement!) It sounded great and played well...
It plays pretty well, but it's the middly, woody tone that really cuts through the mix that makes it so nice...
 16.
That Takamine is pulling on my heart strings. Wish I could have a play. Best of luck with the sale.
Thanks for that, it's a very nice bass!
 17.
Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post........ Stick yer hohner up yer arse
Oh dear, Oh dear... Had a bad day? I've hardly been on BC this week... Should be back home now though.
 18.
Looks like a standard model with the relic option to me.
I like the 'fag burn' on the headstock, by the B string Relicing... honestly!
 19. Here's a link to my ATK Series fretless:- click here!

 21.
What sort of price are we looking at?
That's the problem, it cost me £200, the case, strings & setup takes that to £300. So I'd like to get as close to that as possible, which may be optimistic I know It's on eBay as of 20 mins ago, starting at £199, have a bid, you may well get it!
 22. Perfect condition, new pro setup with Status acoustic bass strings, a really beautiful instrument. Great pre-amp, versatile sound, new Stagg hardcase (a couple of scuffs), PM me if interested!
