Acquired this in a trade - an interesting little cab, and would be the perfect partner to a 'lunchbox' head for a light 'n' compact gigging guitar rig! Now then - it's got a Laney badge on it, but as far as I can find out Laney didn't use Celestions in guitar cabs much, so I'm of the opinion that it's probably an old Laney PA cab retro-fitted with guitar speakers. HOWEVER, it is very well-built, sealed-back with some good-condition Greenbacks in there (two 16-ohm 25W-ers wired in parallel so 50W at 8 ohm handling), looks proper classy (that kind of Fender-ish silverface grille cloth, silver piping, decent condition black tolex) and sounds lovely. I'd keep it, but need to pull some money together to contribute to band merch pre-tour - looking for £120 for this lovely (I'm told the speakers alone are worth about that)! I'm in South Birmingham (Moseley), but often down into Warwickshire and occasionally up into south Staffs. Could feasibly post for abut £15 as well, but I'd prefer collection for convenience. Best off to email me at smokingbeagle *at* hotmail *dot* com rather than message on here, I'm only sparodically online these days.

As the title says; without spending a fortune (haven't got Mono money to spend protecting a bass that only cost me seventy quid ), need something to get my bass and a few odds and sods (tuner, lead, mic) to and from rehearsal by bike. Must have shoulder straps, comfort more important than over protection, looking to spend as little as I can get away with without buying crap - go!

I'm in Hull next weekend should this still be available...

Hull, Wrexham and Leeds over the next few weeks, possibly more to follow - if you're coming make yourself known, I'm the hairy one from The Blacklist Saints http://www.gingerwildheart.net/2012/09/03/ginger-wildheart-headline-show/

First stop: http://basschat.co.uk/forum/20-for-sale-amps-and-cabs/ IMHO, nothing less than 250W, and ideally a 2x10" rather than a 1x15" (I tend to find that 2x10" combos project more than 1x15"s, but YMMV etc If you're still Birmingham-based, so am I - gonna be off touring (Hull, Leeds, Wrexham, Leamington and probably a couple of others) in the next couple of weeks should you want anything fetching back.
Gutted this doesnt appear to be able to take my 414t cab. According to Ashdown the cab is

H x W x D (mm) 655 x 604 x 420 otherwise id've had this and used the excuse of travelling to Brum to go and see Villa Park for the first time in 3 seasons

Ah, wounded - yeah, it'd be just the tiniest bit too deep! Saves you a trip to Villa Park though, I guess

One of these? http://www.thomann.de/gb/planet_waves_gr_01_guitar_rest.htm Thinking about one to stick between my two cabs onstage (so it'd be a couple of feet off the ground), but not sure whether they'll actually work like that (i.e. will it 'stick out' far enough to support the bass, is the grippy bit thin enough to fit in the centimetre or so between the cabs)? Anyones experiences welcome...

Quick mini thread-necro, anyone got experience of the 20-odd quid Thomann gigbags? http://www.thomann.de/gb/thomann_premium_gigbag_e_bass_br.htm http://www.thomann.de/gb/thomann_elite_gigbag_ebass.htm After something I can use to lug bass in and out of town by bike and public transport on occasion, with a few cables and a mic in pockets; nothing flash, I guess, but needs to be durable and comfortable (and needs to fit a reasonably long 5-string; having to replace the Warwick Rockbag I've had for years as it's too long for it).
Hey ian! I`m just re-checking measurements of your case and matching it to the Marshall DBS410 you have. According to Marshall the cab is H 698 x W 698 x D 380. http://www.marshalla.../dbs/dbs_04.asp Is it the model at the bottom of this page? ta Dave
Hey Dave; it's not, mine's slightly smaller - one of these http://www.marshallamps.com/heritage/dbs/dbs_02.asp

Made by Castle Cases in Tamworth, as sturdy as they come - I used this for my Peavey Classic 410 guitar cab (with which there was a bit of space down the back of the cab, but nothing ridiculous) and have lately been using it for a Marshall DBS 4x10" bass cab, which it fits PERFECTLY. Internal dimensions are 600x660x390mm (WxHxD), condition's used but not tatty - pics: From a bit of rooting around it'll fit most 4x10 guitar cabs and combos nicely, as well as many 1x15 or 4x10 bass cabs/combos (Ashdown ABMs, etc) - obviously check the dims first or by all means if you want to bring the unit over to check it'll fit you're welcome! Collection from South Birmingham / Staffordshire / Warwickshire preferred, although the band's around the country a bit (see sig) so check if we're in your area if you're interested. After a mere £60 for this, as I need the space in the flat

To second the statement, I've got one of these with one of the power boards not working, so running a single 250W@4ohm channel into an 8ohm cab (apparently only getting 178W) - I've gigged in it a LOUD rock band with ease, not needed the master above 2 o'clock. Fantastically loud amp. Oh, and thinking about moving mine on if anyone takes this one and wants another for spares...
