1. Loom sold, if anyone fancies the Deltafex feel free to make me an offer - everything must go!
2. I tend to not buy Chinese-made on political grounds (human rights etc), US/Japan/Korea I'm not so bothered new, 'though of course pre-1990s a lot more Korean stuff was dodgy than is now, and pretty much the same for Japanese pre-1970s.
3. A last bump before I end up keeping this and moving on the Precision project, which would make me cry
4. Cymbals on amazing 'Buy Two Get One Free' offer - £50 for an excellent, well-matched crash 'n' ride setup in the form of a Stagg SH 16" crash and 20" 'Medium Regular' ride and I'll throw in a second 16" crash from the Stagg 'X' series. As you can see, the logo wear on the crash is worse than on the ride, but both have no cracks or keyholing, and I've been through a few Staggs to get a pair which sound superb and sit together in the mix very well. The 'X' series crash is much lighter in weight than the SH, and if I'm honest doesn't sound anywhere near as good, but perfectly passable as a spare or for practise use. Also decided I can do without my Gibraltar tom mount (designed to be mounted on a cymbal stand)- it's the smaller 10.5mm L-rod diameter (which fits Premier (from experience) and apparently Mapex, Tama and Ludwig according to Gibraltar - DW and Gretsch use the larger 12.7mm diameter, check yours for compatability!), in perfect working order, no movement once tightened but no 'scarring' on the L-rod ball from over-tightening. Twenty quid for him an' all? And a Gibraltar 5000 series boom cymbal stand in very good condition, one of these: http://www.gibraltarhardware.com/?fa=detai...685&cid=124 - call that £25 (they're £40 new), or £40 for stand and tom bracket (plus any postage)?
5. Is the white pickguard the one with the truss rod cutaway? Can't tell mint from white on this monitor...
6.
Do you have a FS price for the loom? Regards.
Twenty quid, say? The Neutrik jacks (mono ones are switched) cost more than that on their own
7. Upstairs bar in Cox's is lovely (well, whole pub's lovely) - might drift over, I'm likely to be based down that way soon, but can't confirm yet. Do you want drums?
8.
Now that's the kind of cosmetic mod that I like - an elegant lady reclining tastefully - where do you get them - stickers that is!!
Get mine as decals from Hectic Hillbilly: http://www.hectic-hillbilly.co.uk/hectic_h...itar_decals.htm
9.
Sipsmith Sloe Gin mate. Awesome sh*t and more addictive than heroin.
You can get that in Algeria then? http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=152780
10. Auralex Gramma Pad seems to be a solution many around here are very happy with; never used one myself, but the principle of 'em's sound and I HAVE used very similar pads for my studio monitors. I tend to find that the castors on my cabs help with de-coupling to some degree, although be aware that you're probably not going to want your cab as far off the stage as a guitarist might due to the weirdness which can result from the longer bass wavelengths interferring with their reflected counterparts from the stage.
11.
Ofcourse keep it all dark and it's a home cinema room instead!!!!
Genius
12. Sheer mass is about the only route to go for proper soundproofing; personally I'd recommend getting hold of a copy of 'The Master Handbook of Acoustics' and/or plowing through some of the excellent material on the Sound on Sound website & forums. About the only way of getting decent soundproofing whilst including a patio door would be two sets of double-glazed sliding doors, and as long as the brickwork/plasterboarding's done right that'll STILL be the weak link as far as noise leakage goes. Have you thought about security implications of having all your gear on show through big glass doors, too?
13. Second from left is my first 'gigging' bass, the look worked perfectly for the punkier stuff I was doing at the time; I now go in more for the decal like the one on the Tele in the middle as I'm all mature and classy now

15.
Looks great - no cash to speak of though.
Tell me about it
16.
Did you remove the Gibson logo? Can't see it on the photo. Think Ibanez did a Ripper copy, but the Grabbers were Cimar, Avon or Electra. Where are you in W Mids?
The logo was a pretty dodgy rub-on transfer type thing (in an incorrect font ) which'd partly rubbed off when I got the bass, I stuck a strip of electrical tape across it while I was using it and have rubbed the remainder off since. There's no sign of even the remnents of an original logo on there, sadly; it's possible that whoever applied the 'Gibson' logo sanded the headstock slightly. I'm in South Staffs (Cannock) for the next week or so, but expect I'll be back in Birmingham (Kings Norton kinda way) not long into September. Be working in Redditch, probably, if that makes things easier for anyone.
17. Bloody hell, that dropped fast - quick bump!
18.
Ian, that P-Bass is seriously beautiful.
Isn't it though? Found that pic whilst trawling for inspiration for the Sonic Blue Precision project I bought from here, and think I might be trying to replicate it, covers and all...
19. Piccies! Sorry for the delay, had a really busy couple of days... Last one shows neckplate and a couple of small dings on the rear of the neck up at the dusty end, about the only damage worth speaking of (for saying it's around thirty years old I reckon the bugger's in pretty good nick!)
20.
£200 second-hand for me! If it takes a few knocks, I'm not crying about it... Though I am planning on spending a fair bit more on an upright, someday.
True dat, having played a few cheaper uprights/EUBs I think you HAVE to spend a few hundred quid just to get something playable in that market.
