    Context… Martin (MB1 😎) was a porter at RMCH. When her first operation didn’t go to plan (her VP Shunt failed) she had to go back in for further brain surgery. Martin turned up “I’ll be your driver today Ma’am” - he stayed on shift to bring her back with us. It was something like 3 extra hours. He was a bloody great bloke. We had some laughs me and him. I used to work in a guitar shop in Manchester; he’d come up to me while I was soldering “you’ll need to not burn your fingers” etc. always a text at 9.30am on a Saturday “MB1 😎 - just drove to Devon to buy (insert some exotic mad bass) - will drop it off for you to muck about with” Anyhow @bagsieblue you properly got me with this today…

    I use 2 of these cabs with an old Hartke 5500, honestly a flawless rig (well, the head is a bit tatty like…) Cannot fault the cabs at all.

    Plumber booked in to look at this on Thursday. OT team? ”Iris is our priority, we’ll be out to see her and your house in the next 28 days” ”you’ve seen the house, the architects saw the house, you’ve 3d digital scans and models of the house…” The “lead member” who’s overseen, and scuppered the entire thing is a very prominent name. Unbelievable. Anyhow. Just need to say another round of thank yous. 😘😘😘😘😘

    He was Iris’ mate when she was at RMCH for the first 3 months. He kept me going ”GOT ANY FENDERS?!” as he walked through our ward 😂

    Formal - never really had any formal training at all, my college music tech teacher once told me “if you had theory to back up your playing - you’d be dangerous” (I used to be a lot flashier as a player) One guy in a music shop said “you need to be a better bass player than your guitarist” - that was in 1997 - so that was informal. And then there were so many people who told me about “locking in with the drummer” ”don’t be a dick” was a pretty good bit of advice - not sure who told me that and I haven’t always adhered to it. I do now.

    Just been up to Iris (“DAAAAAD I NEEED A DRIIIINK!” - I told her that it had gone past £2600 and she said “oh my gosh!” And then rolled about on the bed being giddy 😂

    Do you know - we messaged them, my mother in law suggested it…it was a few years ago now… Never heard anything back; they mustn’t have been interested in it.
