  1. I had to replace the bass parts on an album once, the original player was good but had messed up on timing and feel of some tracks so vocalist wanted another player. I arrived with a Warwick, a stingray and as I left I picked up my Hohner B2A as a “just in case” - the engineer/producer said “try that funny 80’s thing” and we used it on 9 more tracks - he couldn’t believe the noise out of it. Sold it years ago. Keep on meaning to get another.
  2. Erm…armchair.
  3. Yeah they’ll work.
  4. Yeah - it is a modded pickguard. Very well done though.
  5. Ooh ello
  6. The didn’t do them factory… The bass player for Emma Bunton (spice girl) played a sparkly 59dc in the video for her cover of “what I am”. He played it in a bath tub…(think they were fairly inexpensive and readily available at the time) When the video was done, he had it defretted and toured it… What a random recollection 😂
  7. Met them when they played in Manchester, soon after the film. Really really nice guys. Came in the day of the show and came in the day after as we’d sorted a couple of long cables for them - I soldered Lip’s guitar lead 😂. Forgive the image of me with them - I lost 3 stone soon after this (June 2010).
  8. Bought this for my 1993 SR5 which only has the 2 coil pickup. This is the 1994 onward 3 coil. the circuits changed and a 3 coil pickup won’t work with the older circuit etc. Musicman won’t sell you one without having your old one back off you (broken or otherwise) so after a long wait I found this in Spain. It’s most likely late 90’s early 2000’s and has aged/yellowed. it works though - so that’s what matters. £100 is what I paid (think even if you send your old one back to Musicman, they’ll charge you £150). I also have a 2003 white sr5 pickguard if you wanted to add that on - call that £40. Anyhow, pictures…
  9. When I left the guitar shop trade a mate and I looked at it. based solely on Regular Slinky Guitar strings - without huge financial input, we couldn’t buy them in sufficient quantities to be competitive. Think we’d be buying at £3.27 and some pages we’re selling at £5. ”the quickest way to make a small fortune in music retail is to start out with a large fortune”
  10. That white Pearl caused a 50/50 split in my pants…
  11. YOU’RE A BAD PERSON. YOU HAVE A BAD COAT. 🥴😂
  12. Oh dear lord that’s fit
  13. Apologies, now in a new home - sorry, been busy x
  14. Yeah. Shame it’s a dull colour, well…I say that. Just mean “regular” - needs to be luminous green or something
  15. need a “wow” emoji 😳
  16. New Ray Day!
  17. perfect - just when you decide to sell it to me. 🤣
  18. i had to source a used MM unit - took ages to find. musicman won’t sell you one without you sending the original back - the pickups are epoxied into the covers so they’re not interchangeable apparently. My Teal SR5 is a really early 90’s one and doesn’t have the same circuit as the pre dummy coil (94-2004/5) models. so without lots of hellish messing - my dream for the teal one fell short. Anyhow: the red one sorts that issue.
