  1. my approach “what’s a scale…”
  2. I don’t get the snobbery for or against bass solos. out of 12 songs, I reckon 5 of ours have “lead bass” parts. I sometimes follow the vocal melody, sometimes I go off on one - and smash a shed together…because, why not. our guitarist shoves solos in the others, there are songs where we both do it. i don’t really care for the sentiment that bass players have to just sit and hold down things, or plod along. In our band we all have a pop - it makes it different to other stuff. Anyhow, Kindergarten by Faith No More Please Do Not Go by Violent Femmes two examples of where the bass just does what the guitar would conventionally “solo”. Some guy on a stage leathering out slap bass solos without accompaniment gets a bit dull…but more power to them if they get paid to do it. each to their own.
  3. Stock fender, I replaced the vintage (open) polepiece covers with solid ones just for comfort. Bassfan has the originals too ( I think)
  4. This. But they’re not cheap. About £650
  5. yeah - I think the bb414/614 but with the laminate necks, through body stringing and posh mitre joint would be a more sensible evolution. A mix of the last 3 series.
  6. Recent purchases means this could do with going now. I’ve done the Andy Travis “it’s up for sale so it’s in its case” since starting the listing, so it’s ready to go, basically
  7. What a bass! I’m just not in a position to buy back… unfortunately
  8. Battered on around €350 I can deal with
  9. 1100s? 85…MIJ? OOOOOH talk to me.
  10. As for tv - I have a 50 Panasonic which works well, but the internal speakers are turd. I run into my Sony BluRay 2.1 system. Works well for anything from the Apple TV box via an optical cable. For the odd occasion I watch terrestrial tv, I accept that the speakers are crap.
  11. @Jus Lukin I have those little Samson BT3’s in my kitchen as Bluetooth streaming speakers. mega for parties - well impressed with them, think I got them with some vouchers I won.
  12. Lovely. Not going to drive that distance though. Great bass though.
  13. I’d message @Ashdown Engineeringthrough their page, once I’m done recording, my old mk500 is off for a service and they had a returns number to me within 24hrs. The VU meter on my (15 year old) amp has stopped working, they’re happy to sort!
  14. Weird this has sat about. Anyhow - now going on eBay. Would really rather this stayed in the BC community as I might regret this. Will sort a video when I get chance.
  15. Think they did a “junior” version too - probably more commonly seen as they were popular with learners.
