  1. I’m slowing down…must be my age.
  2. Wouldnt touch that one with a barge pole to be fair…unless it was £150
  3. I think the bb1600 is plenty to be worrying about.
  4. Yeah. You know this was the Goldilocks bb… and I wouldn’t find another any time soon… So, Spector is listed here now - got some demos to do later so will be using 414 and 1600
  5. The best outcome would be a big budget refinish in some lovely metallic paint 😂
  6. Have seen this on a few White bb424/424x now - I wonder if it’s the type of paint used? My white 424 was flawless, but I’ve seen them with finish splits emanating from pickup screws and neck joints. weird - you see it a lot on the Japanese fender “foto flame” series and Shergold basses can be susceptible to it too.
  7. Well…no. But. The studio time I’ve booked won’t pay for itself and although I’d absolutely love to keep this…I can’t at the moment
  8. I’d love it mate - always been my favourite JBass…they used to have these in the fender “frontline” magazine. Just bad timing for me 🤦🏻‍♂️
  9. So in a constant battle with myself for a yamaha bb which sounds more like a Spector, and a Spector which feels like a yamaha bb… I bought this from @Bunion a couple of weeks ago - admittedly on a whim, and it’s a stunner. It was an expensive experiment to see if the Spector LX i sorely missed would defeat the yamaha bb1600 I’ve chased for years. I thought the Spector had won. but… I’ve compared recordings, same room, same amp, same recording gear… And there’s something (to me) that means I can’t let the yamaha go. so. 2007 Euro lx 34” scale, amazing top. slight mark near the jack and a small mark at the side of the fingerboard (bass side, fret 4/5) neither of which upsets the Apple cart. cleaned, polished, restrung with Dunlop superbrights. schaller locks included. Spector gig bag (which is lush). £900 collected - exactly what I paid, but you get new strings and the Dean markleys which were on the bass when I got it. postage is an option at risk/cost. i in all honesty - I want to keep it, but I’ve got to balance the books, and I’ve got some studio time to pay for next month so…
  10. Sat comparing recordings. when you find your unicorn…don’t let it go. Spector will be listed tomorrow. 👍🏼
  11. £250 guys - plus postage.
  12. Yeah. I ran out of toilet roll and used his Christmas card.
  13. My 3rd. angry bb 😂
  14. Cough…look over here…
  15. @marleaux62we’re no longer friends.
  16. Yeah, just more poke - not as pleasant “solo” as this bass - This is going to sting a bit. And I suspect this will be a huge regret. we’ll see.
  17. Nice (and scarce) Japanese bb1600. Really don’t want to sell, but I can’t keep it just to say “oh I’ve got one of those…” Got to pay off some recent spending. Really lovely, high quality (like silly quality) passive p/j. Bass is very clean, played but loved - some tarnishing on got hardware but it’s 34/35 years old. Just a shade over 9lb will come in new high quality padded case, recently restrung with GHS boomers. Will come with a selection of gold yamaha spare bits (saddle springs/pickup surrounds). Plays perfectly, sounds wonderful. Listen to No Doubt’s “no doubt” and “tragic Kingdom” for how it sounds. Don't really want trades. Shipping’s an option at cost/risk. Rough guess £40/£50 insured in UK. Also selling a bb350f converted to fretted from the same era.
  18. @sshorepunk are you still looking?
  19. Oh big bottoms. That’s nice.
  20. Still really want one. Still really wouldn’t play it. So. I’m stupid.
  21. Bump - will listen to offers on this. 👍🏼🥳
  22. Get well soon mate. 😘
  23. Of the same amp? My poor Mk500 is sweating
  24. I know. Impressive £42k house kit though. Anyhow, sorry Lee. Total derail.
