Don’t know why it put me in mind of one of these…

Cor blummin eck. Yerrrrrs.

Ha. No. much like with basses, I’ve been around the block a bit - my wife asked me on our first official date where I kept my pedals… but that lady is the only one who’s name had put me off a bass brand…
-
Nope, sorry. Her surname is Smith too… So now the hate runs super deep. 😂
-
@Al Krowhad a smith. Got it out of the case, I felt warm and in love. about an hour after that, my ex had quit a really well paid job and announced she had £1800 overdraft with no way of paying it back and £14k of credit card debt. we’d just had Ella. For reference, here’s Ella… such was the anguish, I’ve never been able to look at a Ken smith the same since… It went to Italy I think.

I’m being facetious. 1) The basses I own don’t last long enough to get gigged, or buckle rash…in fairness with all the drama in the band, and covid I haven’t gigged in a long time. 2 years I think - and no sign as the band are gun shy…weird. 2) There’s a transition Wal Mk1 on eBay currently at £6k, I showed Mrs T and she said “if I’m paying £6k it wants prettier wood on the front”. 3) Anyone who’s bought a bass from me knows I baby them and they’re not a state unless I bought them that way and listed as such… so…I’m trying to look cool. And failed. My Kids will tell you, I’m not cool 😉😂

mine is variable, currently at my “fighting weight” of 13.5st, I’m a bit flat fronted compared to this time 6 months ago. just in time to put it all back on over Christmas
-
Well yeah, more that - meant stuff needs to be played, but if I get my Wal in the next few years, I’m gigging it. And wearing a belt 😂😉
-
If it sounded good I would. I’ve gigged vintage and custom shop stuff. No point owning it if it’s not getting played.
-
Mine talks louder than I do… ”wwwwwwoooooooooooooooft, wooooooooooooooooooooft…”

My MK500 is a bit fan happy - needs to go back to Ashdown for a service. It is booked in, just need a window of opportunity.

Slip a tenner in with it.

I sold him a flea bass for Jack in about 2009/10 so he’s my mate 😂

Gutted is a bit strong. Mildly Irked. I absolutely don’t need one. Just fancied one. Should’ve bought a signed one when I was offered one of the 5 🤦🏻♂️

what were they, £900/£1000? No price bashing, I reckon 35% margin. cost to dealer £650 Inc vat cost to yamaha per bass, £300. I reckon he’s got £100 per bass. £40k? Or thereabouts? Not to be sniffed at while unable to gig while a pandemic is going on. Not based upon facts at all…just a rough guess. Have heard of similar deals.

Well. I’m mates with a local dealership manager. ”Trav, you still after a BBPH? One has turned up at our warehouse, the last one we’ll ever see, last one in the UK - be here on Tuesday if you want it” ”yup, deposit?” ”yup” *pay deposit* ”All yours pal!” “WAHOO!” That was about 12.15 and at 14.29 ”Trav…erm…yeah…warehouse f*cked up. Booked a customer repair in as new stock…there’s no BBPH, sorry…” ”Mint” ”yeah, refund?” ”yeah”.

Don’t talk to me about last bloody gasp purchases. My Friday experience was bizarre.

Only 14 made for USA. so I’m saying 500 worldwide
-
5 signed and I don’t actually know. i do know if we spoke to fender when we were in the shop, we could order 250 of something from the Mexican factory. I’d say 20 dealer sign up, 5/10 pieces each. 100-200 made, sorry…thinking on, worldwide. erm. 500-1000?

I was on a lot of heavy medication at the time. Because the bass was super heavy…but now I’m off my meds, I’d like it back.
