  1. Just sat messing… didn’t get out for the strings today as we had to do some running around for the kids… Maybe tomorrow.
  2. I’d suspect as a lot start as custom orders…some of the specs are a bit odd.
  3. Haha, the guy in the fedora on the left of that picture is my mate Paddy 🤣🤣🤣 He honestly gets where water wouldn’t…
  4. I think my circumstance with the sabre wasn’t that I paid after closing on Saturday and they don’t open on a Sunday… Funnily enough, I saw the ad on Facebook and went straight to their site to buy. They only do 10-2 on Saturday too, in store.
  5. Very John Deacon “Another One Bites the dust” I think that’s stunning in its simplicity; classic by name, classic by nature.
  6. I’ve searched high and low from r that…no clue where it went.
  7. 😉
  8. They don’t last long enough to wear clothes…
  9. In my previous posts, it looks like an innocuous battleship grey… shine some light on the bugger and it turns into a rainbow…
  10. The velvet jacket is worn by the 414
  11. I’m not sure Talulah or Mabel could handle a sticker mate… ”how does she sound plugged in” what? have a word… in the realms of “plays like butter” and “L@@k!”
  12. I do. Like the Hugh Hefner of the bass world. play them all…love some, regret few…
  13. I wish I had the time/space/money to be a retailer. I have none of the above.
  14. @gafbass02 just weighed it here and it’s 10.1lbs.
  15. @Chiliwailer to be fair it’s in keeping with a lot of other posts on the same thread… I don’t have enough space (4 kids/2 cats) to keep them all. And I won’t keep stuff for keeping’s sake… I genuinely only regret 2 or 3 sales. And even then…I probably wouldn’t play them. Wood and strings, not friends, not family - I still baulk when people name basses…
  16. It’s fine, see how it does with a 4hr rehearsal 😂
  17. It’s no secret.
  18. Going to order strings tomorrow, the Sabre came with stainless steel 45-105 which aren’t my cup of tea.
  19. It’s about 10.4lbs. Id suspect half of that is the bridge and control plate/pickups and knobs. it doesn’t feel boat anchor esque though - feels vibrant and solid. The necks on the classics are insanely pretty. Wal looks well, I await the NBD thread.
  20. Pop up for a brew mate - only a 4 hour drive. Kettle’s on…😉
  21. No. Really manageable actually… this and the 414 weigh and balance super closely.
  22. It’s around 9lbs.
  23. Yeah, I suppose the “acoustic” test relates to feedback in the left/fretting hand - which is all part of the experience. no what effect that has on the plugged in tone is down to which side of that particular fence you sit on. I know where I sit, so I’m putting the tin opener away. I’m very distracted by new arrival though.
  24. Even more so when this arrives…
  25. I know I am…😉
