I’ve walked away right now. why do some people act like this is ok, the bass is absolutely filthy too. not just old. It smells. i am Determined to save it. The bodywork and neck are really clean now I’ve got the layers of dead skin off. I want to swear a lot.

I reckon a shootout between a 37/8 year old bb1600 and 2024 would be a good shout… not many folk would have both I’d guess.

Slightly shallower 414 to 424

Just wasn’t meant to be. back to back rehearsals with this and a BB told me all I needed to know. if I was a rich man, I’d keep it for a “nice thing” to own. and in reality, I’m not as rich as I think I am… And it’s way too lovely to sit in a rack for the days I have more than 15 seconds to play. Much the same story with the tune bass I’m selling.

It’s an absolute beauty. mine really is “old faithful” - for a bass to last more than 5 minutes near me is a miracle.

I chose a 414 over a 1024x. I stuck with my 414 over a 424x (well, 3 in fact). The real test would be 414 vs 2024 or bb1600, which is what the 2024 is most closely related to.
