  1. I’d go for it - if you hate it (which I doubt you will) and sell for £300, it’s cost you £15 to find out you need something else. if you love it - (which I think you will) it’s a great bass for not much coin.
  2. Just played mine for 20 minutes, lovely new string clang!
  3. One thing I have in abundance is a willingness to be creative…the talent bit is elusive - I’ll find it one day (and probably keel over in shock) 🥴😂
  4. haha. Sat drinking a 0% IPA after a mammoth restring session (dining table doubles as workbench 🤣)
  5. They look ace in white - going to keep the black Pickguard on it…
  6. Not unreasonable, if it’s in good nick. there’s not much at that price point which will touch it - it’d take more than £325 to get either of mine. but in the spirit of bartering - counter offer at £300 😂
  7. The 424 has a bit less warmth, a bit more of a hollowed out sound… maybe that’s what I preferred when I had a 1024x and kept the 414. they look mega in white.
  8. A 1600 is definitely the only bb I’m after now - the 3000/neck through ones I’ve played haven’t knocked me out. I really like the 424 on both pickups or bridge only.
  9. What things sound like when I mix them 😂
  10. Well…the single “Diamond Ring” is the highlight…the cover of “Bad” not so much…
  11. My tinnitus basically makes my world have 60 Cycle hum…so, everything sounds “noiseless” to me 🥴
  12. https://europe.yamaha.com/en/products/musical_instruments/guitars_basses/el_basses/bb/specs.html all listed as single coil ceramic across the board…
  13. I’ve not experienced much noise from the bridge unit.
  14. Ah now you’ve said it - I thought I recognised him. yeah - just a bit more pop structure.
  15. Think the bass of doom cost Rob Trujillo $100k to get back from the person who ended up with it. I’d say Jamerson’s “Funk Machine” would be up there (if found and verified). Then Macca’s Violin - his second one which he still plays.
  16. It is very MJ, but has a bit of a dirty loops feel going on - with a bit less jazz about it. very lovely - if only I could find a band/singer like that so I could make a really bad job of the bass parts.
  17. Oooh, aaaah, 4 of the same thing…🤦🏻‍♂️😂
  18. If they’re resistant, there are about 4/5 easy methods rather than tools - but there are “knob pulling” tools 😂😂😂
  19. Nee strings and final tweaks…
  20. I’m now on a furry cab so it’s not an issue, but my cat kept on trying to get near it, so I’ve had to spend £60 on a cover… swings and roundabouts.
