  1. Two extra (but shallow) holes at the top. I set the saddle height by feel (gotoh include the Allen key). Intonation hasn’t been checked with a tuner yet, but is close - put on my guessing hat and it seems close enough for now. I’m too tired after my few beers and late night with the band…
  2. So, a bit more mass - seems the harmonics jump out a little more. Quick release for top loading. It’s basically the Sadowsky bridge but with sides and string through option… comfier for palm muting as the saddles house the height adjustment so no Allen bolts to gouge side of hand. And it’s prettier…
  3. Well…mine just got better-ised…
  4. All true. Hoping I get more time with it through the Vanderklay cab tomorrow or Thursday when it arrives
  5. It’s ok, as stated above - not as full on as some pedals I’ve had. For what I need it for, it will do. I did enjoy the fact the volume doesn’t drop and can actually be “louder” - my q-tron sometimes seemed to have a drop in volume when engaged.
  6. Fought hard to buy this - and I might be totally stupid/wrong/laughable for my mindset. It’s a mega rare 1985 Japanese Yamaha BB1300. Neck Through… 2 x Twin J pickups… Volume/Tone Per pickup…push/pull for coils and a pickup Selector. It’s “racing blue” - sort of half lake placid blue, half lilac - it’s fit. There’s a guy in Canada begging me to sell it him “name your price stuff” - but I know it caught the attention of a few basschatters. it’s a special bass, and really amazing flexibility in a passive bass. does a Jaydee esque sound, a J, a passable p, and if you use bridge in humbucker and neck in single, approximates a stingray…and a p/j ish when single bridge/neck hum. But, I keep on going back to my P/J yamaha Bb’s. Time to admit defeat. Passive P/J forever. Will entertain trades, partial trades for Bb424x in red metallic… Would sell if someone wanted it and didn’t have a trade option - but… I would like for like swaps on a bb3000 (passive - I DO NOT WANT A 3000A) red metallic. May consider wine red. bb2024mx (maple board - as rare as bb1300) bb1600 gun metal blue preferably, maybe Natural - with cash my way (amount depending on condition). bb2024x - with cash my way (amount depending on condition). Not really sure on this idea… I’d hoped to bond with it…but it’s just a thought process which is gathering speed. legitimately had a dream where I swapped it for a 2024mx the other night - so weird. Volume and tone (push/pull) we’re like for like replaced when the push/pull originals failed. Originals included in sale if you’re into repairing pots…🧐 fresh d’addario 40-100 on it. Can swap for 45-105 I have spare, which have been played a couple of hours. Spotted Tiny hairline crack in bridge pickup casing near the E string - on the edge - invisible up until resting your head on the bass - only spotted this yesterday. some small marks on the bass - but unbelievable for its age.
  7. Honestly, sat thinking about the recipe for a good band. Listening to the H4n recording… we’re laughing between every track, jokes a little gentle ribbing - we mess up and laugh, we joke about our ages, talk about family and friends in between. And the playing, just works - we got a bit silly precious over ideas when we set about recording the second EP - and then the guitarist moving away and being stroppy over it. There’s a big sound for 4 blokes in a room. Didnt capture it on the ep. but on the first run through, it was rusty…the second was like we’d not stopped - in fact probably better than our last rehearsals together. But the personalities in the room. Singer and I had a chat before we all met - differences put aside and agreed to relax the humour/ego end. And as long as we can keep that in line…
  8. Well. it was like putting on a comfy pair of Levi’s. 🤣
  9. BB1300 vs 424x at rehearsal tonight… played 1 hour with 424 played 1 hour with 1300 played 3rd hour with 424x 🧐
  10. Found these pics. Bloodyeck they were nice.
  11. Will see tonight - the trade ad got removed anyhow because I put a silly price (schoolboy error) Hopefully, I’ll be over the moon later.
  12. I had both at one point - each sat in the “why did I sell those?” Pile.
  13. Wow. Love these. Love them Stock too - take it from someone who ended up spending silly money “improving” one - they’re lovely as they are. can’t afford, need to stop looking. GAH!
  14. But if I’m not over the moon, I most likely wouldn’t chase for another…
  15. Just the bass which sounds most like me. the 414/424. I preferred the brighter tone of the 414 to the 1024. And I used my 1200’s in passive mode mostly - like a 414/424 I wonder if someone with a 1600 or 3000 would trade for a 1300…
  16. Controversy…I think I prefer the 424x to my other BB’s 🤭
  17. And I’m rumbled. Rippers. - it’s not matching though…pickguard…hmm. Maybe I have the key to the exception to the rule.
  18. Just bought the 212 - all the reviews for Vanderklay stuff are fantastic.
  19. Looks like I’m the first for this! Jamie just drove over from Lancaster for my EBS cab. Lovely guy - on a different day we could’ve sat and had a beer in the garden. Would’ve been ace to keep chatting. Cheers to Ash for hooking us up. Enjoy! Deal with confidence people of Basschat!
