  1. Unsurprisingly…I bought it for a bass I’d just bought, and sold it before the tool arrived.
  2. There’s a handy tool stew Mac make - it’s about £12/£15
  3. They make a difference, wether or not it’s an improvement is a matter of preference/opinion. i think they look better than standard BBOT and fill a bit more space visually… They're just a bit of an iconic thing now aren’t they - synonymous with “pros” who know how to improve things. Now back in mass production via All Parts - should have brought prices down…but seems to have at least levelled them out.
  4. We used to have a photographer like that. Then really standoffish when I saw her about a year after that band had folded. So odd. She wouldn’t know me now, 2 stone and a ginger beard…like Clarke Kent/Superman 🤣
  5. Yeah - I read it twice…both times I wasn’t in a good headspace (break ups…) I think I lent my copy out and have no clue where it is now.
  6. The 2 last with John have been garbage…and believe me, I tried. I know one was an “outtakes/extras” but they were bin-able. Think about 2/3 tracks from the 30+ presented over 2 albums.
  7. The Getaway was a great album. In my opinion.
  8. I think kiedis’ open admissions his Autobiography are pretty much grounds for conviction… he has been done for something, I just can’t recall what. Chad and Flea was something to do with a girl at their gig being pulled out of the audience.
  9. Yeah - I am a dyed in the wool fan. They seem to cop for a fair amount of flak these days. But I really do like them…
  10. Back there on the 30th mate as it was a battle of the bands…and we won 🤣
  11. Day 2, gig 2. Rained heavily while we waited side of stage… then the sun came out as we played. Played really well, big Ashdown house rig - possibly lowest output ever - possibly ohmage issue. Couldn’t get stage volume I needed. My rig would’ve been preferable, but that’s life.
  12. Has anyone used Monty’s relic wax on a fretless board? That seems to really darken anaemic looking Pau Ferro etc
  13. Erm. Brief. Multi band “battle” thing…I know… But, we smashed it - playing a festival tomorrow. Nice little event - about 40-50 folks In a lovely venue. Sound was shocking onstage, but played alright - nice response considering we didn’t really take anyone of ours (as they’re out to see us tomorrow).
  14. Lush bass - enjoy it!
  15. I think Morado that Sadowsky use is honking - had two of those, looked very gingery…
  16. I’ve heard it’s a Hardy wood though…
  17. “Indian Laurel is not inferior..... (or superior) to the Rosewood in any way. In fact, it is very much on par with Rosewood and makes for an excellent substitute that does not significantly impact the feel and tone of your beloved instrument.” - From www.gjtonewood.com 🤷🏻‍♂️
  18. Yeah - just reading up on Laurel. By all accounts, remarkably similar - and more abundant than rosewood. Hadn’t read up on it before, but obviously becoming more common in bass/guitar building.
  19. That’s never been near a fender shop, custom or otherwise. Headstock looks like a regular tele bass headstock has been stung by a wasp
  20. Also…one of these And a Rick 4005, not asking for much… Wal Gibson LP Signature Rickenbacker 4005
  21. Allan bought my lovely Shergold. So happy it’s stayed “in the family”. All delightful as far as deals go. Xx
  22. These aren’t Peerless made anymore, but - having owned both era’s - there’s little to nothing between them
  23. Tonight… sweaty. but. we’ve had a couple of weeks off as singer was in America, keys and guitar player went to Sweden… we’ve got 2 gigs this coming weekend. one is a Battle Of The Bands thing - we last minute decisioned it. and a festival. if we are 80% as good as we were tonight…we’ll be reet. Sounding really good, together - much better than our 9 months together would suggest.
