  1. I found the truss Rod on the 424/425 to be a bit hyper responsive to adjustment, unlike the 414… I’d adjust the rod 1/8th a turn and wait 24hrs to see what that does - might just remove that relief a tad…
  2. That’s definitely going to be done. I have one experiment to conduct first…having ogled a few atelier z basses recently
  3. All is right in the world…
  4. “Many have passed in the great BB wars…”
  5. Yeah, absolutely- just not totally sold on the headstock but I could live with it for sure!
  6. Ok, I know you’ve all been waiting 😂 (not really…but…)
  7. Neil bought some knobs for his project bass. we’re talking big time here, over £4 was spent 😂😉 what a guy though - really lovely and it’s nice to sell to someone who’s posts I’ve been seeing for years. A Stand up BC member - as expected x
  8. That’s actually really nice. What a shame it’s gone!
  9. Yeah. I think it’s the fact it was marked as “signed for by Travis…” when no such thing happened. Luckily, it’s a nice enough area and I have neighbours who are lovely and work from home.
  10. So - what’s surprising is that their listed condition as fair. A little dirty, but no dings or marks. Anyhow…what’s not ace is DHL/UKMail ”delivered” as in…left in the garden. Luckily, my neighbour (guitarist and drummer) was working from home…
  11. Neck construction (5 piece nato/maple on 424 vs 1 piece maple on 414) Dual action truss Rod on 424’s single on 414 - no idea why on a modern ish bass… Through body stringing on 424’s and only top load on 414. that’s about it…
  12. I really like my 414. Slightly flatter neck profile. Just love the pickups (the same models in both basses). And the 424x had the funky plate action going on. only liked them in red and white, so that’s me sorted… Now…the 350f dilemma needs to be resolved 🤦🏻‍♂️
  13. That comment has come up every time I’ve posted that picture, I didn’t realise when taking it. 🤴🏼
  14. Haha - see how we go, will be a few weeks. Gotoh bridge on way like the white has
  15. Ahem…
  16. Nice that. my 424x is sat in my neighbour’s hallway 👍🏼
  17. Yes. 100%. She’s always supported me in personal and musical matters. has booked rehearsal rooms and arranged bands around me. unbelievable lady.
  18. For £60? Got do be with a punt. That chrome plate bit reminds me of…BB’s. OOH LOVELY YAMHAA 😂😉
  19. So, on a rummage for something else bb related… This cropped up. 2024mx - white pickguard played by Glenn Hughes… And then never saw the light of day…
  20. I would’ve bought a 2000’s Japanese yamaha BB3000 reissue - I could’ve saved a whole lot of bother. none came to the UK but I had contacts at Yamaha Kemble who would’ve got me one. Oh well.
  21. Let’s face it, if it was nearer to me - it’d be in my living room right now 😂
  22. Like the wind - GO!
  23. Yeah, decent that - anything under £300 and you’re getting what you’d pay £600+ for on a fender. I was stunned that the red one I’ve just bought was under £300
  24. I’d say BTN first. Or [email protected] Also - @lee650 is after a template for a 425/1025 pickguard if you could trace yours? Theyre not as templated/available as the 4 string version xxx
