  1. Don’t think many made it over here. Looks like a beauty
  2. He never shuts up about you though, funny isn’t it...how two people can have such oppositional views on their friendship... 😉
  3. He’s a lovely bloke - had a few beers with him a good while ago now. I can’t remember what he calls that stuff he does, it’s got a name like “tappaclique” or something along those lineswhich could’ve been pulled out of thin air. Anyhow, he absolutely knows it can empty a room like a post egg cress butty fart. He’s is a very decent player otherwise, but sharing a trade stand next to it for a full day Is exhausting 😂 Edit - he calls it “Rhythmsync” - so catchy a name I had to go looking to remember it. Still, lovely fella.
  4. It’s no odds to me as I think Farida have now been sold as an entire organisation last I’d heard. Squier Classic Vibe - the mega ones Fender Modern Player - them ones 😂 Some of the later peavey grind basses Warwick rockbass for a while They we’re meeting Michael Tobias at Musikmesse 2012 - about an acoustic bass. Don’t think this happened in any production. they made the Parker acoustics- which were short lived. The bass was a beauty. Recording King acoustics, some Ibanez acoustics (we actually ended up with 20 Farida classicals with Ibanez branded pre amps) Tanglewood. There were loads. will add as I remember
  5. He really bothered me. Also communicated as one name, got paid to another name and signed off with another. really odd experience, never again.
  6. Always intrigued by the Dean Berlin basses since I saw him live - he made it sound lovely.
  7. Yeah. And the SG2000’s for £5k. he’s not a good bloke, just saying.
  8. @molan you’re obviously in the know from being in the trade when Metroline Japan was a thing. happy to take as a PM, but does Yoshi’s facility produce basses under. Their own brand? I know I was shocked when I heard who Farida made for when I worked as part of their distributor.
  9. Yeah - I think this has been sprayed over...no matter what colour it was. Chrome Red is an ace colour, I loved mystic red too. All variations on a theme
  10. Oh that guy. Wow. yeah, even if he had a Wal for £1200... Maybe I had a rum do with him.
  11. I’m alright you know, I doubt one will come up at a price I can afford so it’ll just stay in the pipe dream section.
  12. I play guitar to a decent standard, and I can construct stuff using keyboards, but I’d never say I can play piano. If it’s got frets and strings; I’ll give it a go. I own a piano accordian which has been passed through the family. But I haven’t a clue what to do with it.
  13. Also, this was cool - my neighbour (across the road) runs a music school and has an array of guitars. This is a Yamaha Pacifica 303-12 from the late 90’s. Really added to the sound - even with a tired set of strings.
  14. Did this with the beautiful @leemarseillebass Really getting to grips with the soft synths on GarageBand now, the iPad seems to give you a lot more control than the phone. So it’s more fun and you can change sounds on the fly rather than going into menus and hoping it works. Lee was ace for this - I just knocked some little bits together and he sent them back with his charming wiganese lilt. Bass was Jack Casady, middle impedance, tone at 50% wearing some older Sadowsky steel rounds which are aging beautifully.
  15. Having looked again, the neckplate might be ok - the gasket threw me. The corona California typeface is actually ok. id just say it’s a refin, but like you say - it’s what you’d have to do to get it right... would look nice with tort, and if the finish is thin, it would wear quickly and you’d have a legit relic jazz 😄
  16. I’m letting these grow on me. Want the green or gold with a white pickguard. Absolutely no need at the moment.
  17. Well. the neck is legit. the body colour doesn’t fit with the era - I’d want to see in the cavities. There was Hot Rod red in the early 2000’s on the USA made basses, but as pointed out elsewhere, Chrome red is right for that era - a more metallic/candy apple looking red - not this red. Hot Rod Red on the USA basses was lighter than the same colour listed on the Japanese Jag basses. Weird. the gasket under the neckplate and the neckplate itself are wrong. Somethings wrong with the whole picture. So I’d walk away. Could be a refin. Edit - Pretty convinced it’s a refin. Looks a bit orange peely in the neck plate shot. if it’s £500...go for it. Basses from this era aren’t scarce, but are decent workhorse basses. The neckplate is a £3.99 eBay job though.
  18. They crop up on eBay and ishibashi U-Box a lot, I always got them mixed up with navigator (a sub brand of ESP)
  19. I really really like that red one
  20. Was brought up on Mike Harding... ”it’s hard being a cowboy in Rochdale...because people laugh, when I ride past - on our Alsatian dog...”
  21. @drTStingray his responses to the complaints on Facebook are becoming a bit irksome and irate. A real shame. My HPJ Japanese Metroline is flawless
