  1. Having looked again, the neckplate might be ok - the gasket threw me. The corona California typeface is actually ok. id just say it’s a refin, but like you say - it’s what you’d have to do to get it right... would look nice with tort, and if the finish is thin, it would wear quickly and you’d have a legit relic jazz 😄
  2. I’m letting these grow on me. Want the green or gold with a white pickguard. Absolutely no need at the moment.
  3. Well. the neck is legit. the body colour doesn’t fit with the era - I’d want to see in the cavities. There was Hot Rod red in the early 2000’s on the USA made basses, but as pointed out elsewhere, Chrome red is right for that era - a more metallic/candy apple looking red - not this red. Hot Rod Red on the USA basses was lighter than the same colour listed on the Japanese Jag basses. Weird. the gasket under the neckplate and the neckplate itself are wrong. Somethings wrong with the whole picture. So I’d walk away. Could be a refin. Edit - Pretty convinced it’s a refin. Looks a bit orange peely in the neck plate shot. if it’s £500...go for it. Basses from this era aren’t scarce, but are decent workhorse basses. The neckplate is a £3.99 eBay job though.
  4. They crop up on eBay and ishibashi U-Box a lot, I always got them mixed up with navigator (a sub brand of ESP)
  5. I really really like that red one
  6. Was brought up on Mike Harding... ”it’s hard being a cowboy in Rochdale...because people laugh, when I ride past - on our Alsatian dog...”
  7. @drTStingray his responses to the complaints on Facebook are becoming a bit irksome and irate. A real shame. My HPJ Japanese Metroline is flawless
  8. How come pretty much everyone knew this would happen apart from my old mate Rog?
  9. I’d save that. Decent little guitars
  10. Full report when I do the clean up/restring etc
  11. Nope that’s fine mate - seems there’s been a thread here before. I might end up buying it. Will see.
  12. A mate has just sent me this...“I’ve come into possession of a Egypt Luxor Nefertiti bass. They were hand made by a luthier in Scotland in the early 80’s. Apparently to the right person they’re desirable but I can’t find any sort of price info on them. Have you heard of them?” I haven’t heard of them before - there is a website. but wondering if anyone has an idea of value. Looks cool - dated, but the headstock put me in mind of Ashley Pangborn basses...

  14. I remember listening to that Bass solo on the Kill Em All album when I was about 13/14 and just being in awe. Cue me nicking my brothers Digitech Death Metal pedal and Vox wah (which used to pick up radio waves 😂) I think Orion is Cliff Burton’s towering achievement. I absolutely adored Jason Newsted too. After Garage Inc and S&M I was done with them - Maybe “I disappear” from Mission:Impossible OST was the end.
  15. Wouldn’t mind a roadie 2 again...like this
  16. Same as the bb1600 but Japanese domestic model (I think) had VVT rather than VT switch
  17. OHHHH FFS. Absolutely stunning. I’m exactly £998 short. This looks amazing
  18. Damn. Wish these were 4’s. Played a few SRX basses and these are cool.
