Totally misread the post. Yeah, only the 50’s reissues have the “right” spacing for the gold pickguard.

Yeah. Get a drumstick. Saw it to the depth of the cavity. Then split it (saw it) down the middle. A bit of wood glue where there’s no place for the screw to go. Clamp it. Put a cloth between the finished portion of the body and the clamp. Guide hole it...screw in. You could use double sided tape I guess. Robert is your mother’s brother...

Not specifically for slapping, think I sold myself a bit short there - I actually don’t slap much at all anymore, but since owning the ebs cab - it’s got a little more click when I do which means if I am slapping (which occurs every now and then) I don’t have to try as hard 🤣
