  1. Ha man that’s goosed...I’ll take it off your hands - save you the inconvenience. Wow....what a looker.
  2. WP is a great bass player generally - and I love his overall style. He’s a nice guy, I met him at the bass day - gutted I didn’t get a pic, but I got his autograph on a DVD.
  3. Ah, yeah at £999, a well Made jazz...
  4. I tried a sunburst one a while ago. Was neither bowled over nor disgusted by it...think it was about £1400 so it was a bit expensive for “meh”.
  5. I generally used what I use on electrics...40-100 d’addario XL nickels. it’s been a while though. Added some photos I’ve found
  6. I have owned about 10 acoustic basses over the years. The best were Guild B30e from the 1990’s it was absolutely stunning and loud. But they’re rare and not cheap. A Tacoma Thunder Chief was the original intended purchase but it arrived smashed...(cheers TNT) - even broken, I could tell it would’ve been amazing; easily on a par with the guild. I had a Breedlove 5 string which was nice too. A Sigma was a cheep and cheerful surprise, I’d have another of those if I needed an ABG. I tried loads of strings with ABG’s and found that the phosphor bronze strings were generally crap. I loved the warmth of Thomastik’s - they’re mad expensive and feel a bit rubbery but the sound was beautiful. To mimic an upright, I used roto trubass. I have access to a Fender BG-32 which happens occasionally...
  7. I didn’t end up getting my hands on one.
  8. Well, that’s what I did in my gold one. This however was just that someone hadn’t bothered to screw it in. Got to love that idiosyncratic Qc
  9. Tim is a lovely bloke. He makes great stuff (he’s done about 10 for me) this chap https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/earlpilanz?_trksid=p2053788.m1543.l2754 seems very well thought of too.
  10. There’s a thread somewhere about a guy on eBay who does good pickguards using your original as a template. I’ll see if I can find it for you.
  11. It’s not that big mate...I’m 5’10, it fits in my standard fender gigbag
  12. The ever changing Trav bass couch...
  13. Just bass into apogee into phone, no modelling or pres/eq
  14. Sorry mate - phone was on the little dining table the girls have. Nothing unsightly; the new packet of Next boxers keep it all tucked in 😂
  15. It does have to be seen in person though, this is absolutely every bit as special as the first time I saw a gold one. Unbelievable basses.
  16. I miss my gold one - no lie. I will have another.
  17. Sorry mate. Kids have gone to Blackpool illuminations so I’ve got 5 minutes without Iris or Maggie climbing on my head...and Dan/Ella airdropping irrelevant teenage memes or Gifs. ”DID YOU SEE THAT ONE DAD...IT WAS WELL FUNNY” 🙄😂
  18. First Video - bit ropey, I’ve possibly tweaked the bridge to be too low, so there’s a bit of rattle going on. I’m going to leave it now until the strings settle. Second Vid - just seeing how viable it’ll be on some new ideas I’m sending the band. I’ve been doing these on my Spector so I have to remind myself the JC is a bit more agricultural 😂
  19. I’m going to change them. Just haven’t bought them yet 😉
  20. Yeah, sat next to me here, it looks like a sage green colour, in the kitchen earlier it was like a petrol blue...
