I was playing in a soul/Motown band and I played a precision. We’re a funk band and I mentioned a guitarist we had at the time arrived with a skull and crossbones painted Jackson...looked a bit stupid, but soon after he was asked to leave as he didn’t chip in with costs and we couldn’t get on with him. When I mentioned his guitar being a bit “off message” on here - I was roundly (and, in retrospect...rightly) told off. I don’t know - some people are gear mad and want to be seen with certain gear - the Dingwall’s are very “in” with metal/rock players at the minute. Every demo I hear of them sounds well off to me - it sounds like it’s being played down an old telephone line... But, if you can afford the change and you fancy it - you feel as if the Ibanez 300 is letting you down; go for it. Don’t skint yourself chasing Excalibur to suit someone else’s desired image though.

Well, the bb350 was the p/j version of the 300...I started on an MIJ 300. Wish I’d kept the last 300 I had, was a belter.

Decision almost made...love these BB5000a in purple. Eo, while not seen on a 4 string BB, is roughly era correct.

I had this...for a bit recently. Had some stuff to pay for so moved it on. They crop up between £300-£500 online used. Theres a nylon strung version too. Was nice, not overtly “acoustic” sounding when recorded, but definitely gave that flavour

Nope, disagree - one of the few recent British acts to make a big deal globally. Yes manufactured, yes well marketed, yes a bit crass. But absolutely did no harm for future generations of British artists in terms of acceptance (post stones/Beatles). I’d also say they had a real part to play in feminist momentum. Anyhow, I thought this particular track was a nice homage to the stax/Motown era and was harmless enough. I didn’t enjoy playing it much, but we played it at a few shows and the audience loved it and danced along.
