    I have been buying these basses whenever they’ve showed up. Have travelled across the country to collect - but as I predominantly use an old Gibson; they’re not seeing much use. My Silver Sparkle has some minor issues; the edging tape is affixed but some Gaps and I’ve replaced the strap button at the heel. The pickguard (Masonite) was broken, so I had a luthier make a plastic replacement - the broken original will be included in the sale for the sake of completenes. £ON HOLD Commie Red - fully factory - it is wearing a more modern all metal bridge - but I’ll switch back to the original as the all metal is not any upgrade at all. £SOLD Black Sparkle - fully factory, has a mark on the rear of the headstock. Wearing black nylon flats, I can switch to rounds if needed. £550 All finishes are immaculate, commie red shows finger marks easier than the sparkle finishes. I’m sort of looking for a fallback for my Ripper, so something Gibson 34” ish (no short scales) might work. No cases so shipping is at buyers risk. £20 in UK - would have to get some boxes together…but happy to do it. Collection welcome.

    Can’t believe it’s 12 years - did this come via Manchester? I have played this bass…good lord it’s phenomenal. I tried to sell things to own it. i swore to buy it if it ever came up for sale again. And now I’m looking at the prices of boilers and Taps 😔

    On the bigger bridges until about 96 ish. Once the necks went to 6 bolt - they were on the neck plate. I can’t remember on the 5’s - haven’t owned one for a few years…

    Unless… issue with the neck, spare neck found to replace but had another finish on it (white/blue, whatever) and the finish was sanded off. It is, as someone has already said, possibly a SUB neck (black paint)…but it is a MM neck. The serial Number will be on the neck plate on this - so missing decal isn’t like a sanded off serial number (there may be a sticker on the heel area with a different SN) - the body finish is trans purple (think it was called that anyhow) Could all be legit. But take a big mate. Depends on the price etc.

    done, well…I did this on about the 9th and really liked it; tried a few other things but came back to this. I think my reservation was that there are 4 or so different parts. I suppose it’s quite like a canal boat trip, various locks, different places and people - some parts are rocky, some calm…etc. Gretsch Baritone Jet, Yamaha acoustic, Danelectro Bass…GarageBand does the rest.

    I meant to post something about Monday… met an old drummer (Max from Flying Oceans) and a mate of his who plays guitar and sings called Mike. Played through about 5 ideas - 2 of which I really liked and we sort of turned into “songs” as such. Really enjoyed playing with Max again and Mike has a great voice and ear for a tune. A little off piste - sort of Incubus meets Silverchair…so it was like going back to my youth. Took the Sparkle Danelectro basses - one had flats and went back in the case after one Jam… But the one with rounds - a surprisingly good rock/metal bass 🤣

    @Andyjr1515 did a yamaha neck for me and it was ace. not sure of his current workload, or current cost. But he was amazing.
