  1. Think this is some custom shop doofer - not necessarily an anniversary model. I really want to slap Fender’s marketing and design team at times. Anyhow. I’d get my mate Rog to make me a p/j of the above. Which I already sort of have. So I don’t want it.
  2. Has anyone in Manchester/NW area got one? When “lockdown 3 - back to lockdownia” is over I wouldn’t mind a closer look/trial before I decide on ordering new or buying used and living with it for a bit before investing £7000-£8000 in something my kids will probably sneeze on...
  3. Don’t know what model this is. Custom shop or something. I want this. I corrected my earlier comment worries.
  4. Ah good. Something I DON’T want. Good stuff.
  5. Still waiting on Al Krow to buy one, I’m sending him some sandpaper in the post to sort the neck 😆
  6. My uncle had one of these in about 1990, thought he was rich... anyhow... what were we saying...
  7. I have never once worried this much about anything. Here’s how I run the scenario in my head (taking into account: room dynamics, band set up, amp, strings, pickup position, signal chain, bass construction, player, fingers or pick...all other possible variables...) For this - please imagine an internalised conversation with oneself... “does this sound good?” ’yes...’ “Very good - carry on...” OR ”Something doesn’t sound quite right” ’what are you going to do?’ ”change a couple of settings until it sounds better” ’very good’
  8. I think they’re 32” - this is a pretty uncommon finish, normally seen in black or black with ghost flames which changed orange to purple. this one is on reverb at about £650 currently.
  9. Ha. I don’t play 5’s currently mate - and I’m about £1600 shy. Two small barriers. But we’ll get over it...
  10. What a dummy. He’ll never make a name for himself.
  11. Yeah, he’s really ballsed up making basses. 😆
  12. Honest guess? An Encore 3/4 with a messed about with body and added pickguard they were £89 in Argos in the 1990’s
  13. With a redesigned pickguard...pretty cool?
  14. I just cannot believe someone if not a group of people round the table signed off on this. It’s not even a “swing and a miss.” It’s just god awful. So so stupid. Ah well, it’s kept me busy tonight...
  15. £849 for the 4 string
  16. I’ll just get me saw out 😋
  17. Also, wonder why they’re not £700+ anymore 🤔😏
  18. Well. I think £575 should come with a decent finish. I also hasten to add that the pickguards looked like they’d been cut with a butter knife while blindfolded. Maybe the 2 I saw were Friday afternoon jobs. but they Undid the desire for me there and then.
  19. Well, at £700-£800, that’s a bit crap isn’t it. Hence the “crappy” neck quip. shame, the Jackson C5P I had for years absolutely had one of the nicest necks I’ve ever played. The rest of the stuff seemed good on paper.
  20. I have made a few references now to how disappointed I was when I felt the necks on these. Gritty, rough and cheap feeling.
