I have a very “active” sounding Tune. A very traditional/thumpy Jack Casady - if I want to have both sounds...or near as damn it, I have a Yamaha BB. I Also have a fretted and fretless J pair. If you have the money and it makes you happy...just go for it. Buy and sell used on here - get more bang for your buck, massively.

Yeah, it’s extra boxes though. And I’ve just moved from a 2 cab set up. Thing is, there’s nowhere near me stocking EBS or Vanderklay etc...so, will have to see what S/H stuff is available to buy to eliminate the dreaded depreciation 🤣

Ok. Car boot I can live with - and 10 years ago the weight wouldn’t have been an issue. In fact 15 years ago I used to use SWR Goliath cabs which were a similar weight. In hindsight it’s probably part of why my back isn’t as good as it should be.

No, I’ve always found roto flats to be...er, yeah...not so flat.

Lovely. Love the EBS sound...just not the bulk. Need to look at measurements/weights.

Sorry if it’s been asked before... I want a lighter cab, hence my EBS 410 being for sale. I love the air moving but not the lifts. I’m thinking EBS Neoline 212 or a used Vanderklay at bass direct. Will a 212 be too mid heavy? Any experience?

I’ve got a supply of wonderful solder which works well when called upon. I must admit - I hate it, but I’m pretty handy with it.

Lemon oil. Apply, leave to soak for a Couple of minutes - should do fine.

Waited to see the Deftones for a long time, saw them at the Manchester Apollo before Chi Cheng’s accident - they were...erm. Shite. Pure shite. Stoned off their knackers and they’d Obviously had some sort of tiff before hitting the stage. Around a year later I saw Korn at the Apollo...the drummer had had to stay in America with carpel tunnel syndrome, one guitarist had found god and left and the other had broken an arm or Something, so we watched Jonathan Davies and Fieldy with 2 guitar techs and a session drummer...and it was a Valiant effort but very disjointed. Still better than the Deftones gig.

Between driving around greater Manchester for the eldest daughter and the wife disappearing for 3 hours shopping...I haven’t had chance yet. Need an hour to myself to do it right, once, not trial and error it. Hate soldering...hate electronics. But as I’m off the sauce, the time I’d normally spend necking wine or something - I’ll spend some time this evening on it.

I’ve seen them about 6/7 times - this was the only time I thought “they’re crap”. Saw them twice more since this and they made up for it.

James Brown/Red Hot Chili Peppers at the City Of Manchester Stadium. Apparently a support act called “chicks on speed” were booed and bottled off stage. James Brown was god awful - which didn’t help matters and then John Frusciante came on stage and “told off” 20,000 fans. He got booed. The set was downhill after that.
