The blue sterling has been on stock for years - I haven’t played 5’s for about 4 years and it was on my “maybe” list back then - and I recall it’d been there a while at the time.

There seems to be a glut of them around

Radio silence from guy I've known for years. Speaks volumes. I think “hi mate, that was fun - but not for me” would’ve been better than nothing. Sent him the audio files from the rehearsal, no “cheers mate”. Really odd - hopefully he’ll say something at some point.

He had an original 60’s jazz with dead butterflies encased in the lacquer done by DH too. madness. Oh to be rich.

So it’s down to the Damian Hurst paint swirl...think they were originally done as a series to auction off for The Silverlake Music School Flea set up.

Were the Damien Hurst finished ones not built by flea’s bass tech? I think the prototypes were luthier made jobs, and had LP musicman style pickups and Aguilar pre’s. The mass produced ones were made (I think) in the same factory as AXL/Johnson branded basses...and weren’t great.

Need the nut and washer for this switch - have e-mailed @John-E-Retro via website, with no luck... Anyone got one in a draw?

@lemonstar Hi Neil, We’ve pushed on with a new guitarist who’s ace, things were looking Good and then (Half expectedly) the singer called it a day. We’re now In the process of auditioning his replacement. Look for “602 auditions” thread which is like a basschat version of war and peace - I think I started that thread around the time of this one. Thanks for your reply - I was very frustrated, but I’m hopeful now. Andy

Was originally built for James Stelfox of Starsailor...it’s had an East Pre fitted now, so once i’ve sorted new batteries (currently only in passive mode) it will come alive.

Having sold some gear and cleared a couple of things off - I’d hoped to get a Status Groove from these very pages. Typically - it’d sold about 4 hours before my gear had been paid for. “Oh well, they drop up from time to time - will have a mooch on Facebook marketplace...” I saw this. Hours later, a deal was struck. It was our very own @Geddys nose who I’ve dealt with before. tis very good.
