  1. Yeah, he’s a nice bloke - hope it works out.
  2. Yeah - he’s booked in for next Thursday
  3. Right...singer is ill so a no show - although he told us yesterday he’d do his best. He called me today and sounded like crap. He offered to pay for tonight... Instead we tightened up some new ideas, and Andy the new guitarist paid for rehearsal. sounds ace.
  4. You actually took the time to type it in?!
  5. Well, if he rehearsed 5 times a week with his previous band, it really didn’t show.
  6. Hahahaha. Jesus Christ. The odd folk are out in force.
  7. Did someone already say Martin Clunes? If not...Martin Clunes is a bass player.
  8. Oh. How embarrassing 😂
  9. Like the video too
  10. He described himself as a singer/guitarist. on both counts he was wrong. ”let’s hope he doesn’t play bass” I joked.
  11. Another day, another singer... well, he said he was. ”he sounds like he’s in pain” ’don’t call us - we’ll call you (not)’
  12. Too right to be wrong if that makes sense...some bits of wood slipped through the 9.5/10lb net.
  13. that mustang looks more like Ice Blue - like my Miller.
  14. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/390181368644455/
  15. Nice there was a duffed up one (earlier model) for £29, sure enough it was gone in seconds.
  16. this one?
  17. Wasn’t the streamer/Spector NS thing initially a licensing deal with Kramer? I’m very tired and should think more before typing...
  18. All cards off the table currently, just bought an Aria with my Yamaha fund...
  19. Just made a little rosewood shim for under the body end of the neck. The bridge is a typical “high mass” jobbie seen on 90’s eastern made basses, so I couldn’t get the action really low - I’m so lazy. it plays brilliantly now, and I did a little test recording with it, sounds great. So, need to get some fresher strings on it and it’ll be put into use on Thursday when we audition singers.
  20. If someone posted this “I made a bass in my shed, and while I’m happy with my first attempt at a hand stained burst finish - I know what I’d do to make it better...” I’d be really supportive. But that, coupled with the “we sanded through the finish - but clear coated it anyhow...” is a bit of a joke.
  21. Didn’t do a thing for me at first. The teacher was a hyper aggressive guy and just shouldn’t have been a teacher. in about 1997 we had a guy called Mr Burrows, he was ace - and the first time I played a bass in front of anyone was a 750 capacity concert hall. And it was rubbish he played piano, a mate played guitar (much better than me at the time) and it was a song from the previous school production. He encouraged and advised us. He was pretty cool. Mr Burrows left later that year. There was no music department when GCSE options came around.
  22. Well...I couldn’t find this model specifically online...passive... Maybe I have the answer why...may be a pre production prototype...
  23. Needs a bit of tweaking too...not sure it’ll compete with blue miller 😏
  24. Spotted locally, so took a chance...Aria Pro 2 Steve Bailey series 4 string. Looks lovely, feels great - seems to be in that all important sub 9lbs region. Aria pickups, vol/tone and a pickup selector. 24 frets...ash body. Very good/excellent condition. needs a setup and clean and new strings. I’ve got zero time this next week or so to do anything about it’s current state. Absolutely no need for another bass, always fancied one though.
