  10. WP is a great bass player generally - and I love his overall style. He’s a nice guy, I met him at the bass day - gutted I didn’t get a pic, but I got his autograph on a DVD.

  13. Ah, yeah at £999, a well Made jazz...
  14. I tried a sunburst one a while ago. Was neither bowled over nor disgusted by it...think it was about £1400 so it was a bit expensive for “meh”.
  15. I generally used what I use on electrics...40-100 d’addario XL nickels. it’s been a while though. Added some photos I’ve found
  16. I have owned about 10 acoustic basses over the years. The best were Guild B30e from the 1990’s it was absolutely stunning and loud. But they’re rare and not cheap. A Tacoma Thunder Chief was the original intended purchase but it arrived smashed...(cheers TNT) - even broken, I could tell it would’ve been amazing; easily on a par with the guild. I had a Breedlove 5 string which was nice too. A Sigma was a cheep and cheerful surprise, I’d have another of those if I needed an ABG. I tried loads of strings with ABG’s and found that the phosphor bronze strings were generally crap. I loved the warmth of Thomastik’s - they’re mad expensive and feel a bit rubbery but the sound was beautiful. To mimic an upright, I used roto trubass. I have access to a Fender BG-32 which happens occasionally...
  17. I didn’t end up getting my hands on one.
  18. Hmm. Have to agree with @Maude, sorry.
  19. Well, that’s what I did in my gold one. This however was just that someone hadn’t bothered to screw it in. Got to love that idiosyncratic Qc
  20. Tim is a lovely bloke. He makes great stuff (he’s done about 10 for me) this chap https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/earlpilanz?_trksid=p2053788.m1543.l2754 seems very well thought of too.
  21. There’s a thread somewhere about a guy on eBay who does good pickguards using your original as a template. I’ll see if I can find it for you.
  22. It’s not that big mate...I’m 5’10, it fits in my standard fender gigbag
