  1. I’ve just asked the wife for £5k ”I don’t get it Trav, I just don’t...”
  2. Yeah, it was 7.85lbs, and then when I took the badass off for a vintage fender and took the Duncan 1/4lbs for Aguilar it was about 7.5lbs. Still regret it not Being mine. I took delivery of 6 fender American deluxe jazz basses in 2010 when they changed to block/bound etc. Lightest was 8.2lbs, heaviest was 10.5lbs. most sat around 9.5/10lbs. Some Ash, some Alder. It was literally luck of the draw.
  3. Haha. My playing wouldn’t suffer if I lost all my fingers in a terrible woodworking accident. The Bass was fine. weirdly held into the neck with a nail. Classy.
  4. Taking the wife out for a much needed meal and cocktails in an hour. Deffo buying a double bass tonight hahaha
  5. Yup. Very satisfied for the lucky buyer. The infamous “Trav’s had a wine twitch” was kicking in.
  6. I took the pickguard off my violin bass - as it read “The Cavern” If there’s no electronics mounted to it. Go for it. Shove it in a ziplock bag and shove in a draw, or case. The lad who I sold the violin to kept it as it was and still has the pickguard in the case where I left it.
  7. Ah wow. Just brilliant. I had a fretted SB-40eq in sunburst and it was such a great bass. I was actually made an offer from a guy who curates a Washburn guitars museum/exhibit somewhere in the USA. And it was a lot more than £350, so I sold it to him. I’d love to have this, but really cannot at the moment. Chris is an absolute gent, so whomever ends up this will be pleased as punch.
  8. Not for me that. Everything barring the facings is perfect.
  9. Had a lovely trade offer today - but I should add I don’t play 5’s/6’s, I have a fretless (gathering dust again) and I have tried and ended up not enjoying short scales. Bump
  10. They did an advert in ‘bassist’ magazine For these which was a colourful whole page affair. I thought these were the absolute pinnacle of bass guitar design, lovely looking basses. I had the ad stuck on one of my school work books.
  11. Dunno (Mayones Patriot) Anthony Jackson (Fodera Sig) Joe Dart (MM Sig) Dunno (RD Bass - maybe an Edwards/ESP) Geddy Lee (60’s Jazz) Steffan Lessard (Modulus) Pino Palladino (Pre EB Ray) Dunno (MM SR5 HH) Jimmy Haslip (Roscoe) Billy Sheehan (Yang attitude double neck) Sting (Hamer) Ida Nielsen (Sandberg) Stu Hamm (Fender urge) Jack Casady (Gibson LP Signature Bass) Chris Wolstenholme. (Status thing)
  12. There might be another in the offing...
  13. I’ve been talking with this guy for a month, I really like him. The other guys (think there are 5 others) 2 have said they’ll send something over by the weekend. I think this guy just has his recording gear set up to go, I know I struggle at times so will give the others an opportunity. Plus - once we’re all in a room, it could fall apart.
  14. Yeah - I made it a bit awkward to see what the guys and gals would do with it. he did a great job
  15. Yeah - and his enthusiasm is encouraging
  16. Yeah he has a car and a Stratocaster without skulls 😂
  17. Try again - have set to “public” Guide Track https://drive.google.com/file/d/10_1QmHdobRZoWy4Svwt_1uU4rHiVCSH-/view?usp=drivesdk Maurizio’s take https://drive.google.com/file/d/1119a1s1P0r25zkLrTvjGczRk90TXz_Ci/view?usp=drivesdk
  18. Ah. Hmm. i might have to look at settings on the drive. I’m so inept with technology.
  19. This is Maurizio who contacted us via our website...I really like what he did with it, very “Mother’s Milk” - and he replied with his recording within 3 hours. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1119a1s1P0r25zkLrTvjGczRk90TXz_Ci/view?usp=drivesdk
  20. Well, this is novel. I recorded a backing track last night and we’ve been sending to potential new guitarists. just going to upload to google drive and I’ll share results on here. here’s the backing track - https://drive.google.com/file/d/10_1QmHdobRZoWy4Svwt_1uU4rHiVCSH-/view?usp=drivesdk
