I used some for a week then sold the bass they were on. They seemed lovely for the money.

Yeah. They really do. It’s mine and Jen’s 7th anniversary on the 18th, no idea where that’s all gone.

Here’s a thing. My Eldest Daughter turned 11 yesterday. I joined Basschat in the early hours of 1st August 2009, as I couldn’t sleep and was absolutely having a rabbit in headlights Moment at the prospect of being a dad. So...what does 11 years look like... I was annoyed yesterday - due to politics, it was the first time I’ve not had a photograph of her on her birthday taken by me. Ella’s 2nd Birthday was the first one I did solo; the band I was in threw her a party for that one 🤣 Shame I haven’t got photographs of 11 years worth of bass sales and purchases on basschat. I don’t think the servers could handle the upload. Anyhow...happy 11th Basschativersary to me.

NBD: '81 Washburn SB-40 fretless (thanks to Andy Travis and Bassassin)
AndyTravis replied to Beedster's topic in Bass Guitars
He was using it a few years ago (maybe Hyde Park) as well as an Elrick or something modern. He’s changed the pickups and hardware out for black stuff and Aguilar. But sure enough, that first note of Graceland “Burrrowwwwwwwwwm” Fit. -
There was on here recently and it looked great. But the serial number was sanded off. Which unfortunately means that it’s original owner is probably still looking for it. Not casting aspersions upon the seller...but there’s a cloud over a bass like that.

I want a BB3000 in metallic red or Wine Red. And a 1600 in Gunmetal Blue. they don’t turn up often.

D’Addario Chromes - grabby and hard to play

I’ve had a couple of goes with them, and if I was after flats again I’d look at the Elites Detroit (had a set for about a week). I absolutely adored the Thomastik Infelds I had on my Nate Mendel. Took a while to get used to how compliant they were (like rubber bands) but they were ace. At £50+ a set...they should be too 🤣 -

I gave it to a mate who painted it rainbow colours. knowing him he took it to a gig and smashed it. glad I head butted him when I had the chance, tosser. -

Exactly! 😉

I’m eventually going to sort another 414 or 424x. I have a pickguard I want to use. Just had a huge unexpected bill so I’m not buying anything for months now...

Not really sure what the craic is as Greater Manchester is in a new local lockdown. Now - we’re not rehearsing in anyone’s house so we should be ok... -

The first guitar in our house was a Wilson Rapier 33: had previously belonged to a cousin. wish if kept it. -

I think notes can be learned. Feel cannot...and when you throw bad note choice and bad timing together - GAME OVER 😂 -
This is a different way to do a single cut

I wouldn’t go quite that far. But...yeah. A five Pinter. -

I think his farts probably sound lovely. Talented bugger. -

I’ll level with you - his first rehearsal was pretty crap. Moments of “oh cool...” So I wanted to push on and see if it was just nerves. The lads were “he might be alright” - and then last night he noodled aimlessly and tunelessly. And as @PatrickJ kindly pointed out - We need something more instant and someone with ideas - not Just an idea... It’s rare I want to walk out of a rehearsal. And instead of “tell you what, give me one more crack and I’ll sort it” I got a gobfull. So...yeah.
