  1. I sorted the battery. 3rd 90’s Fender I’ve had the same issue with. Although with a piezo in play it was much more of an urgent issue. The electronics were ok - didn’t feel the need to mess about - there was a little disparity in pickup volumes - had this with a Yamaha BEX4c and Epiphone Zenith too. Did some nice recordings with it. It played really well by the time it left me, intonation was good. It found a new home elsewhere and I know the current owner has had one of these before - he’s made up with it.
  2. If postage becomes an option...I’m up s*it street. Really fancy this
  3. This. Actually. To the day...can’t think of a bass which has cost me so little yet brought so much fun and garnered so much attention. It owes me £200, possibly under £150, I’ve had a few shandies, so my mental arithmetic and cost sheet are currently uploading an update of some sort...
  4. I wouldn’t mind a 424x, had a burst 425 for a bit
  5. It’s lush - especially with a bit of sun to set the sparkles off...
  6. Well...my singer has one in wine red, I would like that too. this has brand new d’addarios on it and sounds like a £1500 bass - easily.
  7. Yeah a bb414, no changes at all - I had a bb1024x pickguard in black on it and it looked fab. Then I played with a mate who had a fender strat in candy tangerine (very similar to Yamaha OM) With a Pearl pickguard. I had to do it. then I stumbled across an NOS attitude bridge - and snapped it up.
  8. @Pete Bish I love Adore - great album. Also the album without Jimmy C on drums.
  9. Can’t go wrong really...as long as you can make sure it works/is playing well...
  10. Well. Sat in my garden having a bit of me time. Recorded some ideas yesterday and The Sadowsky was in another room... Cannot believe this bass. Still punching way above its weight. And the Sadowsky is nowhere near ten times as good for ten times the price. In saying that, the 1024x wasn’t twice as good for twice the price either. Happy Orange Monday.
  11. I know. Local rehearsal room is Manchester though and you’re a fair way away...
  12. There’s one of these at my local rehearsal room - the guy won’t sell it me. if I could have two of these with an old trace head...I’d have a massive heavy rig I’d rarely use Hahahaha!
  13. Awesome bass. Looks great.
  14. They’re big old units those Wilkinson’s.
  15. A German Hofner Cavern for £180. All legit. I might add.
  16. Fender BG-32 - very good little instrument, too quiet acoustically. Samick - sold to @lee650 I was drunk when I bought it, nice thing but quiet. Redwood - sounded ok. A bit louder than the fender. gear 4 music 5 - sounded nice. As loud as the redwood. Breedlove 5 - fantastic instrument. Loud - even on the B. sigma - ace instrument, louder (yet smaller) than the redwood and G4m tacoma thindercheif - awesome, even though a courier had smashed the back off it. Gutted about that one. Guild b30e - the only acoustic bass I’ve got need which had to be played lighter as so not to drown out the guitars. Bonkers that bass - sold it here and wish I hadn’t as I bought a bass with the money I thought I’d love but didn’t.
  17. I have. 3 times. Bought some strings and a gigbag.
  18. Didn’t. The buyers are musos with passion. my experience of Dawsons is a mixed bag. I worked there for 12 years, and my last few were Dire.
  19. Pfft. Miller fanboys pfft.
  20. I’ve just had a picture. Unbelievable.
  21. Running In The Family and Staring At The Sun remind me of late 80’s drives in my dads green Volvo 340GL
  22. No. It was either a Whamaha, or a (De)Fender
  23. Aaaarghhh! I’ve just fell off my chair. I’ve been sick as well. Too much to handle.
