  1. There’s an area on the top horn which has been sanded already - and a number of dinks which will require some of Mr Wilson’s Magic. But I’ve made him aware. Tell you what, I enjoyed that.
  2. Between painting fences, posting some parts I’d sold on here and keeping the kids busy... I’ve only just had the hour to do the prep before sending to Dave.
  3. I think I could live with that. although a 50’s fender neck would be ace on it too. It’s got the rounded heel so without modding, it wouldn’t be a direct fit. but a decent luthier could do it - can’t cope with that headstock shape on the 51 ish aesthetic. One of the reasons I didn’t go for the 60th p
  4. It’s a more or less carbon copy of the RS guitarworks contour 54 which has been knocking about for at least 10 years. Ive always fancied one but they’re about £3000 - meant to be lovely though.
  5. Gutted - needs a tele headstock
  6. Where the body was mounted Ona stick for spraying
  7. That’s the first thing I thought. Sanded/missing logos - or in this place, neck plate... Although I have an Ibanez guitar which had a shop stock sticker on over the serial number - when I went to pull it off, it took part of the decal with it. So missing serial number isn’t always a dead cert for dishonesty.
  8. That confetti dark tort matches up with the 90’s vintage reissue stuff.

Was sorely tempted by the ‘p’ versions. But am too involved in other projects at the moment. great prices.
  10. Did debate burgundy mist.
  11. At £250 more than I sold it for - and with the old sh*tty strings on. Oh well.
  12. Had a Fender MM for years. Loved it. Gigged it, played it daily for about 6/7 years. My ex put us in a position and I had to sell pretty much everything to get us out of it. I missed that sound - but still, years later hadn’t bought another - I wanted my original one, but the lovely guy who I’d sold it to (Nick) had lost track of who he’d sold it to. I set out to find another - and found 2. I was in a position to buy both. Now, if you were on basschat 10 years ago - I actually ran a poll on what finish I should have put on my original MM as it was a bit battle scarred. Anyhow - I’ve decided on my colour and I will reveal more later. The natural one is rough, light and plays well - but the body has multiple dinks and inexplicably a sanded area on the back of the top horn. So my plan from 2009/10 is about to come into play. Tonight was disassembly. Looks like my man has a window to do my work. the process will take 6-8 weeks.
  13. I modify things - I’ve just done this to a Marcus Miller. The pickup polepieces dig in my fingers (Causing blood blisters) and I like the pickups close to the strings. these covers are £4 a set on eBay. reversible modifications. unlike what I’m going to do to my natural miller 😂
  14. That’s my “dream” jazz. Sire did LPB and maple/blocks and I got excited. Then the did matched headstock, which on maple boards (in my opinion) looks turd
  15. I didn’t find it overly harsh to be fair - I knew it was capable of it... Anyhow - it went on to fund the project I’m about to undertake.
  16. No, haven’t got the money at minute
  17. Need a euro lx in my life at some point. Will get this garage conversion done and start saving the pennies.
  18. Yeah I suppose I do. Always on the lookout for a future bass I wish I’d hung on to 😉
  19. I did wonder - cool Character, has a look of Matt Groening’s work.
  20. I sorted the battery. 3rd 90’s Fender I’ve had the same issue with. Although with a piezo in play it was much more of an urgent issue. The electronics were ok - didn’t feel the need to mess about - there was a little disparity in pickup volumes - had this with a Yamaha BEX4c and Epiphone Zenith too. Did some nice recordings with it. It played really well by the time it left me, intonation was good. It found a new home elsewhere and I know the current owner has had one of these before - he’s made up with it.
  21. If postage becomes an option...I’m up s*it street. Really fancy this
  22. This. Actually. To the day...can’t think of a bass which has cost me so little yet brought so much fun and garnered so much attention. It owes me £200, possibly under £150, I’ve had a few shandies, so my mental arithmetic and cost sheet are currently uploading an update of some sort...
  23. I wouldn’t mind a 424x, had a burst 425 for a bit
  24. It’s lush - especially with a bit of sun to set the sparkles off...
