  1. No stress - think I threw my toys out of the pram, it was around the time Iris had been in and out of hospital a fair bit, stressed with work etc so I just wanted it gone. In retrospect, cutting my nose off to spite my face… Can’t wait to see/hear it fully sorted! Xx
  2. Nothing worse than- I bought a Yamaha Attitude about 6 years ago, the dealer hand delivered it and when I took it out there were a few issues (albeit minor but undisclosed) and I’d paid over the odds to get the specific one… He was then in my house sort of refusing to leave… Really odd. He gave me £300 back. But the bass didn’t stay and I sold it for exactly what I’d paid (which made it a bargain for someone else who was beans chuffed with his purchase) Even though the bass was lovely and perfectly serviceable; the ownership was tainted. In hindsight…I wouldn’t let that poor buying experience dampen what was a lovely bass…and now they’re selling £300-£400 more than I paid so I won’t get another. But I’d never buy from that outfit again - he has about 5 different names on eBay/reverb and Facebook. Based in Scotland. It’s a shame the seller is being a cockwomble - but if there’s enough in the bass to persevere; I’d push on and enjoy it knowing it’s fully sorted…and from a resale point of view - you’ll know it’s kosher should you decide to sell on. Sorry to hear of your issues Chris - hopefully a good outcome and lots of fun to be had once it’s corrected.
  3. Several things. 1. that’s bloody gorgeous 2. looks better with black pickguard 3. AI generated descriptions are lame 4. as with @prowla “L@@K!” Is a reason I wouldn’t buy from someone 5. I haven’t got any money so points 1-4 are not valid at all 😏
  4. get yer ‘ammer out…always works 🤣🙄
  5. I miss mine - wasn’t head heavy, or at all heavy…my Casady with rounds does a very similar sound…but my lord it was a cool bass.
  6. That’s absolutely bloody gorgeous that. Mad as a box of chicken noodle soup - but I really like that.
  7. Yeah - I’ve met him a couple of times, saw the guitar versions at the Birmingham guitar show in March. They kept the 3+3 headstock for the guitars, just don’t think the shape of the 4 aside is nice at all, shame as the bodies are nicely designed.
  8. Oh. Totally missed the 34 Libertine?! wahooo! Boo. Wish I’d missed them. 4 aside headstock nonsense, not Shergold-y at all. bleh.
  9. Love the look - wishing this everything short scale “thing” would go away though, I find them borderline unplayable. a 34” version comes along; I’m back interested… Weirdly, they’ve obviously bought the names - has someone else got the rights to the body shapes? Surely the Marathon is their most famous bass, why not a modern reissue? Miss mine 🤦🏻‍♂️
  10. Absolutely - Elegant musical art indeed. Good job I’m skint…not sure the world needs to hear me flubbing lines on a EUB as well 😆
  11. I tend to take guitars/basses in first, lock the car. Our drummer is always first in - and his wonderful other half sits in the car as he does this. I then load my amp in. My pedalboard is tiny and lives in my lead/strings/capo bag. In 28 years of gigging I’ve left behind a stool and a guitar stand…my own fault. An old keys player interrupted a bloke sifting through our gear once - he ran off with an acoustic bass…I’d pulled the same acoustic bass out of a skip a month earlier so I wasn’t overly wounded by that.
  12. They did do some basses @Rich
  13. I think the TRB headstock is quite Elegant
  14. I keep on looking and not doing anything… the pearl white always catches my eye.
  15. They did the rc50 - probably about another 5 versions on now…but that was like a multi looper, I think syncing the 2 separate units would be a headache…can’t fully recall but they’d need some sort of midi clock functionality to do that.
  16. From October
  17. So guys - I’ll start by reiterating the thank yous. Clarky, you’re a hero. Just the thought process alone - you’ve made a huge difference. To the anonymous donor who matched the last donations - I’m sure I know you, but I’d love you to message me; Iris has a picture in mind to draw for you. To all of you, and “Rob from basschat” @rwillett who pushed this thread from strength to strength… @walshyfor his offers and all the massive donations (there were so many) Every donation has meant the world - no matter what the amount. This thread has honestly been amazing to watch - and then i remember it’s for Iris, for our family and I’m humbled. Honestly. It’s been an emotional month - and I cannot thank you all enough ever. xxx
  18. Fair point, i probably wrote in fits of rage…but I concede that one 😉
  19. Guys, just in work but wanted to say that every single one of you has made such a massive difference to what we’ll be able to do for Iris and then our family when we’ve made those changes. I’ll write more when home. thank you xxx
  20. Maybe he’s on basschat… he replied after that text.
  21. I’d love to see what non response is…
  22. At this point, we’re about to consult legal teams regarding the disability discrimination act. as we can’t get a quote and can’t start anything until the council gives us any communication (the meeting with the lead member was cancelled today…) the funds raised by BC may be used for the legal battle. They’re bastards. Done.
  23. An email has just been sent to the mayor, deputy mayor and each “Lead Member” about the now nearly 5 year battle we’ve had… Written by Mrs T. December 2019 was when this all started. absolutely mental.
  24. Carol Vorderman on Countdown, smash and spam for tea…simpler times…jumpers for goalposts… Isn’t it, wasn’t it?
