  1. There was a trace SMX dual compression pedal n Facebook before for £50. Nearly bought it for the sake of it. edit - it’s gone
  2. Found it. In Ormskirk. £600 more than I paid for it... It can stay there.
  3. It wasn’t brown. If it’d been brown...I would’ve loved it.
  4. You can have any of mine for $10,000 - I’ll throw in a backstage pass and a brew.
  5. Well yes, Johnny facetiouspants. But given the choice, I’d want a MM pickup in that position. I was more bothered that it felt like a £500 Mexican Fender. Shouldve bought the SR5 I’d tried the week before 🙄
  6. The problem is on MM/P basses is that the MM very rarely ends up where a MM pickup should be. i bought a Sandberg MM/J a good few years ago, and aside from a few other bits I didn’t like about it (in the end) it certainly never sounded like a MM pickup. Didn’t help that I bought a 1994 stingray on the same day which was a beauty.
  7. My Modulus has the Duncan/Modulus pickup - good shout. I could go silly and do the Lane Poor Legacy...
  8. Black BBNE2 up for sale
  9. Well, was thinking Nordstrand MM blade as the aesthetic fits in with BB more. But. I appreciate that might not be the sound... it’s a while off yet as the wife has just said “er...that red Yamaha with a Big neck pickup...new is it?”
  10. I sat with a Helix rack for a week. It was full of weird and wonderful sounds - the depth of sounds and editing was impressive. The sound quality was great. In all honesty, I found it exhausting to use - I personally would much rather forego a bit of fidelity for ease of use. At the end of the day you could have a Helix or something similar and use a great bass but bad strings or a deteriorating cable - thus rendering all of that “extra” quality useless. At the dog and such band showcase on a Friday, nobody will care... I see the point for studio use, but for gigging and rehearsal I don’t want more of a headache - I want to make sure the songs are played well. The ME 50b is about as plug and play as you can get, without the faff of setting up individual pedals. And I’m all about low stress set ups and pack down. So it works perfectly for me - it sees minimal use, so anything more would be a waste of time and money. Anyhow...back on topic 😂
  11. Yeah. So, the plan is get a 424x, strip the body. Fill bridge pickup rout. Rout for MM pickup. Get a nice 2 band eq and a lovely vintage MM sounding pickup. silver flake body, White Pearl pickguard. Green LEDS. (Well, maybe not...but y’know)
  12. I’ve tried them. They were good. And they are expensive, but they’re made in small numbers in the UK so it’s to be expected. I just want a stingray sound in a BB package, the body shape just sits right for me. I’m going to do it eventually. Just need the wonga.
  13. Just a BB with the Sims Super Quads in would do it. All options covered.
  14. Thought about this over a brew. Yamaha aren’t going to deviate from their plans. I think the best option is to allow me to become the head of YGD R&D, I’ll make a load of prototypes to suit Basschat’s requirements. And then quit. @Al Krow can you not modify your Sandberg to suit, or buy a second hand 735 and get it modded? I’m still holding out for a 424x to come up on the cheap so I can implement my plan.
  15. Then I shall make one
  16. Gene Simmons does this with Cort Axe and Punnisher basses. $10,000
  17. Looks great
  18. I suspect after recent purchases, there would be an imminent divorce. But you make beautiful instruments. And I am weak - I know where you are though, for sure. Have you ever attempted a version of the Les Paul Signature bass (the posh Jack Casady).
  19. I want you to do me a Pelham Blue Ripper with Thunderbird pickups 😂
  20. Designed in 2019? is that what the 19 signifies? Its nice enough.
  21. Your basses always look like what Gibson should’ve done in the first place. Brilliant.
  22. “These 3? I’ve had them for years!” *pooooooff* you’re back in the game. Works all the time in our house.
  23. Well if the sound ends up fitting, it will be gigged.
  24. Just daft things like “a really fuzzy bass sound might work here” - so you twist something and it’s there. No endless menu and preset scrolling. And much cheaper than buying a load of separate pedals
