They used to make Mexican Standards out of Poplar before using Alder 3 and 4 piece bodies.

Poplar And Basswood will be used.

Probably more of an availability issue rather than conservation issue - although that’s a nice spin. Some people call my cynical, but they would, wouldn’t they?

I think solid covers would a) look better b) eliminate this issue which sends my OCD wild.

Speak to @TimAl the man has templates for everything. He’ll also then do you one at a very reasonable cost - he’s done clears for me before (he’s more commonly known for his mad artwork)

Well it’ll be a mk1 shape, flamed sycamore top. Possibly stained in a stonewashed blue - PRS did a nice CU22 in that finish and promised myself a bass in that finish.
