These have been booked for 2/3 months for August/September. I suspect bigger festivals are 6-10 months ahead.

Well we went down the route of “exposure” - but all covered travel expenses when we asked. Not earning, but not losing money. The latest one though I said we need £400 as they were late booking us and they’ve gone for it. I do recall playing a bigger festival in 2008 and getting £650 and tickets/travel but once we actually looked at it we lost £100’s as a van full of gear from Manchester to IOW was a dear do - We did play to a few thousand and traffic to websites etc went up for a bit. died off quickly enough as various band members had issues at that time. Cant believe I stayed on for another 3 years

We’ve ended up on 3 smaller local festivals this summer. We sent off some demos and to be fair 5 got back to us - 2 ended up being when various members of the band are on holiday. Havent played a festival since 2008 so after a hiatus; I’m looking forward to it.

I just found it interesting - I presumed they were just scam bots sending blanket messages… turns out they’re reading the ads 😂

Weirdly if you add a disclaimer at the bottom of your ad on Facebook “no scammers - I won’t let courier collect for an envelope of cash, or your cousin who’s passing on business cannot collect etc” it seems to reduce the volume of scammers

Yeah had two in the last month. really bored of dealing with scammers now, it’s bloody rife.

Well, we’re busy from next month - 4 festivals and a really decent “arena” gig - ok, it’s called an arena but it’s a 750 seat venue… We’re talking about T-Shirts as “merch” Has anyone done this - is it a big headed nonsense idea? Does anyone have experience with this? positive and negative tales welcome. i was thinking basic logo tees at £10 a pop.

Saw them at Lancashire County Cricket Ground last week - was a funny one, watching my 15 year old daughter sing songs from my teen years - as if it was hers. Very cool. The new stuff doesn’t excite me, but it was a good show. Nothing But Thieves were great too.
