  1. Apparently they’re doing the ‘1’ again as seen on the old BC Rich and Spector basses. Obviously the II will be the big seller.
  2. Ah right yeah - he’s just announced some dates of his own. Not seen him for a bit.
  3. It’s the brand, the company “Leo Quann Inc.” so they will make Badass Bridges instead of the Omega...or maybe both. its like me making strat copies For a bit then buying fender...And making fender strats instead.
  4. Not old news, well, the announcement isn’t anyhow...they’ve bought the remaining stock and all the tooling etc as well as the branding rights etc.
  5. I actually had a look around the site to see if it was him:
  6. Nope. Never seen one before. looks generic, Chinese/Indonesian made and probably quite low cost.
  7. Had a burgundy mist jazz for a few years. I’d play pink sparkly basses, purple etc doesn’t bother me. they did it in a really distinctive blue I quite like...
  8. It’s nice mate. It needs a good buffing if it’s staying black. Lots of surface scratches, suppose its unavoidable on a 32 year old black bass. think “all black” is just a bit pedestrian for my taste.
  9. Ah man. In my “I need a Thunderbird” stage I would’ve jumped at this. they need to be played low and my spine will not allow this. what a beauty.
  10. The guys @Ashdown Engineering often post on here and are absolutely brilliant at helping out. I’m sure they’re out at a trade show this week but might be able to give you a shout when they see this tag.
  11. Hahaha. Only one Yamaha these days. Can’t believe you’re selling it’s brother.
  12. Yeah. Going to take it to rehearsal on Monday, see if it fits in. Think I have my p/j needs sorted with the BB to be honest.
  13. Hahah. I think a decent refin could be done for about £200. Sparkle refin is about £350...don’t want to go above the entire refurb costing £400 in total.
  14. Well. eBay rummaging. Found this. it was set on a BIN and I thought “I’ll have that” - it was cheap. But listed as needing TLC. Thought it was worth it as a project. It’s pretty scratched up, and has some chips on the headstock. Also frets are worn and need dressing. But it works. So I’m debating what to do, have been talking to @Dood about these as he’s got 2 of them. thinking I’ll keep hold of it as a long term project. I might drop fill the chips on the headstock to prevent them getting worse. Not 100% if I’ll do much more than that. the Machine heads are 3 fender and one defunct schaller drop tuner - so I might get some schaller bmf’s, the bridge has been replaced with a gotoh 201, but I’m thinking a black omega or badass. and then, if I’m using it...I’m thinking treating it to a LPB or Burgundy Mist refinish.
  15. https://www.notreble.com/buzz/2019/11/07/allparts-music-corporation-acquires-leo-quan-company/ so, they’ve been doing the omega reproduction for a while. Turns out they’ve bought the original company now. interesting. Maybe Badass bridges will stop being super expensive again.
  16. Pretty good, probably. Will not make you Pino Palladino though, maybe people think it will.
  17. Hahaha. No. I’m asking myself as a dad of 4 if £50 can go walkies with nobody noticing.
  18. They seem to be “desirable” but always come up for sale...weird.
  19. I’m sat on a fence wondering what to do...
  20. My mate Dave Foster plays with them sometimes, either as an opening act or guitarist. He’s one of those musicians and you think “eh?” Just a bit special, and a bloody marvellous and humble chap. Seems ridiculous that the only time we’ve shared a stage was at a mates 40th where we played blues and stereophonic/killers songs. As for Marillion generally, I’m not that clued up.
  21. Looks a lot like the 2003 one on eBay...
  22. Yeah I had one HH configuration. Decent bass - but that same fretless bass was up for sale for about £600 at the time.
