So tonight we started auditions for guitarists. The outgoing chap announced out of the blue on Tuesday last week that he was moving to Birmingham, and not letting the grass grow seemed the best option. We recorded the tunes just bass/drums/vocals last Monday when old guitarist didn’t show. Sent them with the brief of “see what you can put to these...” to see what they’d come up with. Two booked for tonight. 1 chap, very nice and obviously a good (Blues) guitarist. Started suggesting arrangements and changed the feel of the songs. Not sure yet. Didn’t learn anything we’d sent...just busked it a bit. Don’t know if it sat right with me - is a second audition acceptable? second guy didn’t show - He got his dates wrong. Helpful - and not so reassuring. Two more booked for next week. And maybe guy number 2 from today... I’m pretty unhappy with “auditions” - very uncomfortable things. I may dress as Simon Cowell next week.

Our current guitarist is relocating and we're after someone to pick up the tunes and make them their own as well as contribute to all upcoming songs. You'll hopefully bring your own ideas and opinions too. Ideally we'd like someone around our age (30-40 ish) that has been in original funk/groove/blues/soul bands before. We practice weekly, have a laugh and put effort into making good music and exploring new ideas. Last year we recorded our first EP that you can find on the usual platforms (The 602) that gives you an idea of our early sound. We have ideas for different directions that we hope you'll help us develop. The goal is to play decent gigs/festivals once a month or so, record and promote online. If it sounds interesting give us a shout with a link to a few demos and let's have a chat.

@Ashdown Engineering were very busy on the build up to namm... they’ll reply soon I’d reckon - they’re normally pretty good at it.

If they’re made by Grand Reward/Farida- they will be exemplary basses. I know they picked up the Warwick building licence for a bit, after the rockbasses went on a wobbler...they also did some great bits for peavey grind bxp and zephyr.
