  1. Don’t think they lasted long - the company still exists and I suspect the originating factory makes the expensive Bacchus stuff (only other place I’ve seen that bridge).
  2. “Meanwhile, Godlyke Inc. in the US started to sell their Disciple, a clear copy of the SGC Nanyo Bass Collection made of hardwood and equipped with “SGC electronics”, for prices ranging upwards from $825. Quite a long way upwards, in fact.” easily the best put together bass I’ve ever owned...
  3. Nah - it’s crap. Probably sell it next week 😂😂😂 seriously - never owned something this well put together.
  4. Pedal. Board. Just the one. thinking about a reverb pedal, and an Ashdown foot switch needs to happen as I’ve started using the sub octave on one song.
  5. “Godlyke Inc. is a music equipment distributer founded in 1998 by Kevin Bolembach and George Schwab. As well as selling other brands, Godlyke also distributes its own brand Godlyke Basses which are hand-made in Japan. They feature an ergonomically-designed body shape, dual SGC pickups with 18-volt active electronics and Gotoh hardware.” apparently
  6. Well. This has been on the watch/want list for a while. Eventually got a deal sorted. Arrived today and I’m stunned. I’ve owned Ken Smiths, Warwick’s, Jaydees, Status’ etc and I’ve never had a bass which feels so well made. Absolutely bonkers. Sounds like a hammer too. Very very pleasing.
  7. 4 which stay. And a fifth space which is seemingly occupied by whatever flavour of the month...(there are sometimes up to 7, I have been up to about 30 at one point but then kids, marriage etc) I used to have 4 wall hangers which kept me limited, now I have a lovely rack stand case thing which can hold up to 7...so we’ll see. this arrives tomorrow...
  8. Nirvana - Bleach been a long time since I listened to Nirvana, Krist Novoselic’s playing had so much bearing on me when I was a kid. Love what he does. Anyhow, Iris is dancing around, so it must be cool.
  9. Does Sound On Sound have a forum? Might be a good place to start looking?
  10. Think they were d’adDario chromes from the factory, nice basses.
  11. I owned a fender Marcus Miller in about 2000-2010, and I got used to the pickup cover being on. Never use the bridge ones on a jazz though - too big. Did have a very nice P with mutes in the cover. Looked brilliant.
  12. The LPB’s are beauties. would love one with an added j pickup, with a reversed p pickup... after car issues and another bass purchase this week...that’s not going to happen.
  13. I’d like to clarify that we bought and sold the Gibson’s as new old stock (even though they arrived factory sealed to us) there used to be a lot of Gibson USA special run overstock (for Guitar Centre/Musicians Friend etc) which would eventually make its way over in small batches to Europe. Should've bought one of the LP’s when I had discount 🙄🤦🏻‍♂️
  14. We ordered a batch of Gibson Les Paul basses with 2008/9 serial numbers in December 2012 and they arrived in 2013, we sold them between 2013 and 2014. all new. And some of the early Fender Roadworn basses has serial numbers indicating 1-2 years before the release date of the range.
  15. Waiting for a cheap 424x to come up - need to follow up on an idea.
  16. Jazz neck, p/j setup, worse balance than a jazz or p. But looks cool.
  17. At least I didn’t say tired.com or something, that’s proper other level dad joke shite. fake Ray...just scratching another itch captain. seamlessly back on topic. These Jackson’s got close to an itch, but I won’t be scratching
  18. Caramel. Don’t even own it anymore. Cant wait to hear your graphite necked clang Machine.
  19. Or that ric pickups in a jazz is a good idea 😉😂😂😂😂
  20. The jp6/jm6 were lovely looking - I could live with that weird headstock, the other (the name eludes me) looks a bit projecty... i do wonder if the jm/jp ever made production as I’ve honestly had my eyes open.
  21. Godlyke Disciple - very distant relative of BC. trying to figure out if built by scg or deviser - hard to know what’s what.
