  1. Messing with wah’s in the studio today. not for me - much prefer autowah/envelope filters. this was a very nice one but didn’t sound right. back to the drawing board. FA783A7E-1200-493C-93E9-60C56078AC73.MP4
  2. Weirdly there was a body for sale on Facebook - they only did black ones with maple boards and rosewood on the burst and white ones. wonder if it’s the same seller and they’ve done a neck swap. was sorely tempted by the body loved the second version of these.
  3. Need to sort one of these again...this is close and lovely...but I’m skint atm.
  4. I’m sure it’s already been said, but you could buy a tasty 77/78/79 precision in black for about £1400/£1500 and a nice mirror pickguard for about £50 (Fender had them as spares when they made the Steve Harris...) and then have a nice holiday. And a new car...
  5. Dad’s having a clearout. Guess which pictures he’s posting all over Facebook 😂
  6. Damon Chivers who works for Fender is always looking - he’s pretty active on Facebook, but not sure what he’s after.
  7. Should be able to get somewhere with the EMG website. thanks though @KiOgon
  8. Lovely - this is the solderless kit - and it’s effectively a telecaster setup. neck/bridge pickups, 3 way selector and master vol/tone
  9. How do. recently been using a Yamaha Attitude Standard pair, nice basses, using them exclusively. I have 2 exactly the same and fancy putting some EMG p/j’s I have in another project bass in the pink one which has a knackered volume pot. so. i’ve bought an EMG telecaster 3 way switch - I’m hoping it’s all pretty straightforward. the p/j set comes with VVT pots, so in theory I should be wiring this as per the telecaster diagram, p pickup to “neck” j pickup to bridge, wire from switch to 1 volume pot, link the volume to tone pot and to jack... and have one volume pot left over. does that sound right? any thoughts/help appreciated
  10. @Baceface I sold the 614, looking back on the pictures I wish I hadn’t. But sound wise I preferred my (now famous) 414. don’t change the tuners, don’t change the bridge - and the preamp used correctly is absolutely fine. it’s a typical low/mid price bracket OEM preamp, nothing spectacular but functional.
  11. Shell... the 424/1024/2024x pickguard 100% fits the 614
  12. Cheers, have elected to take the EMG’s out for something else so the bass will remain for sale - sans pickups... £50?
  13. Offers of £100 plus postage will be listened to
  14. There was one on Facebook marketplace last week. sorry this is a late post - still mopping up the vomit.
  15. @TimAl has a template for these - any colour you want, or design, pictures...whatever. he has both designs and is a clever bloke so could probably make a hybrid Yamaha will supply them - in black only in the original 424x/1024x shape
  16. Fender shop getting into the BB2024x look... Need to buy a 424x and do this finish/pickguard combo...
  17. They’re great basses those 604’s.
  18. Just done a trade on one of these... swapped an auto wah for a manual. it sounds good - not right for what I’m after, but that’s Sod’s law more than anything. was going to bing it on eBay and carry the search on. but it’s making a weird noise - it squeaks/pops when stepping on/off like a jack being unplugged. anyone had one of these and resolved it? Ive got an amazing guy near me called Graham Owen (Owen Electronics) who will sort it... i’ll have To use another wah from guitarist tomorrow 🤦🏻‍♂️ Should've just paid out for what I wanted originally...
  19. Just get a new pickguard cut with a j slot and have someone put another j pickup in?
  20. BB350 (1990’s) BB1500a (1990’s) Active BB - STD (1990’s Japan) all J/J
  21. Totally a fake...not a very good one either
