Jackson Basses - no longer just good for metal?
AndyTravis replied to Al Krow's topic in Bass Guitars
Saw these in PMT on Sunday. My god they look disappointingly cheap, they really aren’t that pretty. Sad really as my old c5p was a work of art. I wasn’t even inclined to have a go, or pick it up. -
Apple and Line6 need to knock their heads together... fuming that my sonic port isn’t working currently. I bought a little focusrite thing and sold it as I’d heard the gremlins in the sonic port were sorted. they aren’t. Now I don’t have anything.

Haha. Did the first layer of infill on the headstock this afternoon. It’s a very very nice thing... might give it a chance. Every time I put it away I forget how nice it is. Every time I pull it out of the case...boom I’m in love again.

Fender Road Worn series, are they discontinued?
AndyTravis replied to karlfer's topic in Bass Guitars
This. worked in a shop for years, and the amount of emphasis put on this by spec sheet worriers 99.9% far outweighed their playing ability. There was a guy who’d marked out the string spacing at the nut of a friends old hofner. sure enough every Saturday he’d come and measure the spacing. eventually after months of this round the houses...he found a Sheraton and proceeded to play the most disjointed rendition of house of the rising sun. he didn’t buy it, the search continued. There was also the fuss over Gibson using “laminated” fingerboards and “richlite” which was fawned and fussed over by the tyre kickers. ”ive got an epiphone which is better than all of these...” ok mate, no stress 🤷🏻♂️ -

@ezbass that Casino Coupe is a beauty. Still want a casino in my life... -
Well. I’ve got a black (rather than Cosmo black) gotoh 201 arriving. Bought some new pickup screws. They’re not the right thing. think I’ll polish it tomorrow and tidy it up. then I’ll list it for sale. haven’t got the time nor inclination to take on a project at the minute. And want the money back in the pot for Christmas.

I enjoy a bit of pick playing every now and then. I bought some lovely Ultex the other week. Have had them all pilfered by middle daughter who was shouting “rhino rhino look rhino!” As she toddled off 😳 -

Modulus Flea/FU4 used to belong to @bassfan who’s a bloody great bloke. He took my Godlyke and cash to prize it out of his hands. I do miss that Godlyke. together, they could take over the world. -

Yeah. Really uncomfortable. Oh well, the guy who bought it is gigging the donkey off it now, fair play to him. -

Best Brilliant seller, just love the thing. worst would absolutely own another in a heartbeat and it was a lovely bass (after a lot of work) The Guy I bought it from was vile and the experience totally cocked it up for me. Sold it at a loss. -
Who influenced you to pick up and start playing Bass.
AndyTravis replied to thebigyin's topic in General Discussion
Weird as it will sound. Nicky Wire of the manics. Loved them around the time of everything must go. And his playing was so simple I could play along easily. Then I saw Stefan Olsdal from Placebo. And the. I realised bass players were so cool. After that. I got into RHCP and Flea made me want to take the lead 😂 -
