  1. Aye. Seems straightforward enough. im offloading though before the move.
  2. Hohoho. Plot thickens...
  3. And will soon be rebranded again, apparently
  4. Ok, weird one. great bass, plays perfectly well, and was rescued from death. a bit worn with chips and dents. Nothing terminal. Birdseye maple neck, light. the truss rod is broken, and it rattles. Doesn’t transfer into the bass and it plays really well with 40-100 strings on it. i was discussing a replacement truss with @Andyjr1515 who doesn’t think it will be a costly job. Theres also 1 white nylon washer missing off one of the tuners, but functionally fine. i got a new Yamaha control cavity cover too. nice bass, sounds good - body is too small for me. collection preferred, but can post it for about £10 edit - EMG’s now gone, will include a Yamaha bridge pickup in the price. Nice project for someone
  5. so. It’s up for sale. Passive is definitely my thing... its in great nick - very minor swirling. the only area I’d say worth a mention is the back of the neck has two patches where someone’s rubbed dark marks off, totally smooth but just different in colour. preferred collection in Manchester, but I could ship which would be about £15/£20 in UK. lovely bass - chose to record with it recently. just never going to be my orange bass. Is wearing a bass doc black pickguard, can ship with a slightly more worn official Yamaha bb2024 job but it’d need the tip glueing back on. more pics to follow. and no, the orange 414 isn’t. For. Sale. 😉
  6. This would’ve done it. Don’t know why they did a Mexican version of the rascal bass, and a version of the cabronita that the custom shop did...but not the Lotto telecaster bass.
  7. The attitude standard is winning...think it’s beating the 414...🤨
  8. Oh. This guy. This is who I had “fun” with over a Yamaha. If you want one, wait until someone else is selling.
  9. Had the fretless version for a while, what a bass!
  10. Think Sims is your man for Sparkle finishes.
  11. Just a sound guy, offered to pick a bass up for me, and turned up, no stress. wish we’d had time for a brew and more chat. Lovely bloke. one of the many sound people who make this page worth being on.
  12. Well...if you’d stop texting me rude messages
  13. I don’t press buttons to ignore you...I just do it 😂😂😂
  14. Its in unbelievable nick for 27 ish years of age
  15. took a good bit of cleaning, was like a dusty headache. Wearing some BB knobs now too.
  16. Pink Attitude Special...about 1991/2
  17. @dub_junkie that ovation is beautiful
  18. Mums mate - she’s a right goer...
  19. The thing is, when Gibson were going bust, everyone was saying “they need to go back to what they do best, Les Paul’s/SG’s/335’s!” And were criticised for all their “innovations” (which incidentally were poop...) Fender and Gibson do what they do, Imagine Levi’s making tracksuit bottoms or Dr Martens making tennis shoes. It just doesn’t work that way. Fender have a staple 5/10 models and have to work with that. They try stuff and it doesn’t always sell - there are 100’s of models which didn’t stay long. I sold Fenders for years as my Job, and all the weird and wonderful sat on the wall while black strats and white telecasters turned over in huge numbers. For years their best selling Telecaster was the butterscotch 52, their second biggest selling telecaster was the left handed version. After that it was a natural finish USA with a black pickguard and the Baja Tele in blackguard blonde...etc. Its about an “Icon” thing for players. Jaguars/Jazzmasters/Mustangs were sort of dead until Grunge - the artists bought them because they were reputable branded guitars but cheap. Then in the early 2000’s the 72 Custom Tele/Thinline Tele/Tele Deluxe were in vogue because of all the hip indie bands using them for that same reason - before that they couldn’t raise an eyebrow let alone a big ticket price. They have a legacy and they’re bound to it, damned if they do (by some) and damned if they don’t (by others). More stringent quality control and they’d be away - but that adds cost, and that’s why a Deluxe USA Jazz is £1800 or so and a USA Sadowsky is about £4500. Incidentally - I side by side compared a USA 2010 Deluxe, A USA sadowsky and an Alleva Coppolo (check spelling) and the Fender held its own, massively. I preferred it in sound to the other two and it felt as nice as the Sadowsky. It was just a bit heavier than the other 2. It was also about £1449 at the time. They should open up 12 month contracts to us all and see if we could do a better job. Anyhow, as someone said earlier - if you weren’t thinking of buying a Fender this year - these probably aren’t aimed at you...I’m off to play my yamaha 😂
