  1. A white 2024mx is the only thing I covet at the moment. Not many about.
  2. Yeah, the two bigger knobs are volume and tone, like a p-bass. The white pickup selector is between the J type and P type pickups. The three smaller knobs and mini switch are for the preamp.
  3. Bought a Yamaha bass from me - heroic chap, pleasure to do business with. thanks again Andy
  4. Offers? I know a few people want it but need to sell their stuff first. It’s also on eBay now...
  5. Now Yamaha own line 6 they do a pacifica version...imagine a bb734 variax bass 😳
  6. Would entertain a trade of a bb414 in wine red in good nick - with a value of £100/£150 against my bass. or a bb424x in red or white £200 ish.
  7. Here’s a funny thing, the last 4 or 5 basses I’ve sold have been collected. The last bass I bought was very kindly dropped off. Every single person (except one who I’ve talked to for years) looked at my white jazz and said “blimey, look at that lovely old thing” or “ooh, how old is that?!” I chuckle and say “2007/8” but it does look very old. it just looks like an old bass - if it was original 1964 it’d be a £10,000+ bass. it’s insured for much less than that. And it had a leave of absence for a while and I had a couple of other custom shop shiny basses, but this one has something special, so the relic bit is just a coincidence for me - if it was shiny, it would still be the best jazz I’ve owned/played - and after 13 years in the trade; I’ve played 1000’s. This one is mine, there are many like it...
  8. The colour is awesome. Played for 4 hours last night, half on the 1024x (which is unbelievable) and then the second half on the 414. The 414 I have has a posh ABM bridge so it’s as resonant easily. It has a bit more snap (I think the bridge pickup is a gnats chuff closer to the bridge itself) - but they’re both wonderful. i had a 425x and a 415 at the same time a few years ago and preferred the 425, no idea why.
  9. I’ve sent you a link to one I’ve just spotted
  10. That’s why the offer shiny ones too innit? Im not getting into the relic being “pointless” debate as I’ve done it before and it always get shirty as nobody wants to be “wrong”. I have a CS relic jazz, a 35 year old actual relic, a 32 year old “closet classic” with a few little marks. And 4 pristine basses. All picked because they’re ace. I have no predilection for either. But I’m certainly not offended by them. I don’t get the relics some companies do on modern looking basses. But vintage reissue Fender and Gibsons (VOS/Aged) I totally get why they do it.
  11. Ah makes sense now. Will add you in a minute. im selling an 1100s and haven’t got funds. Looks lovely though. the 1024 is a total animal, used at rehearsal last night!
  12. It states is modded...looks alright apart from that bridge
  13. Just looked at the pictures of that Fender properly. Dirty big Kent Armstrong MM humbucker in it. I’d say it’s a £350/£400 bass
  14. Just buy this instead. If I had £600, I wouldn’t be sharing this.
  15. No mate, Tommy two grips wasn’t in the market at the time...it was a lad who I was in a band with. Was a nasty little mexi standard in some sort of dirty browny red.
  16. I really like the 94 I had out of all the ones I’ve owned. best of all the features I’d say.
  17. Join the queue. And No - she’s not like that, thank god. had an ex who threw a telecaster down the stairs mid argument. I snapped the heels off her laboutin shoes. Easy done - for £600 I’d want more substantial heels. the telecaster was gigged for years after. Sold it to a mate.
  18. Both my 414 and 1024 were virtually unplayed when I received them. both are finished like a stingray, a bit “dry” feeling - wouldn’t mind them buffing to a shine. but I’ll play them to death and shine them up the old school way. love the glossy necks on the old bb’s.
  19. They did a nice metallic red towards the end
  20. this was my other bb1100s but they were the same. 40mm
  21. Gassed for a BB300 like my first ever bass in 1997. Found one, a 1984 (YOB) which cures two bouts of Gas. Gassed for a 414 in Orange Metallic like my old 415. But wanted a pickguard on it. Found both items and sorted that. that lead me to want a 1024x in Caramel Brown because that’s like a big boy version of the 414 and they didn’t do anything I liked finish wise on the 2024. And that’s me GAS done. I am selling an 1100s I picked up along the way as it’s a shame it won’t see use.
