So I’ve just secured another early 00’s bb (I know there are newer ones, but I like these) my 414 is great, and came with a schaller 2000-4 bridge retrofitted by the original owner. so I set about finding another 2000-4 so I can just get them set up and playing the same, I’ve been happy with it...they’re discontinued. There are still some about, they’re £80 at Thomann plus €10 shipping. I then set about looking at the omega bridges which are the repro Badass II ones. I used to have them on a lot of my basses when I was out touring. they’re £58 each plus €10 SHOULD I... Sell existing 2000 (probably £60?) buy 2 omegas (overall spend £67 once schaller sells) get another schaller £90. I’ve answered my own question I think...

I’m going to put my black one on the Sunburst and get a white pearl (as I’d originally planned) for the orange bb

Which begs the question, has anyone got a 414x/424x/1024x/2024x pickguard spare?

Brilliant. A burst BB matching Headstock... will try the preamp as I know they’re not everyone’s cuppa. Then I’ll investigate options. will wear a pickguard like my 414 too.

A very nice 614 in Old Violin Sunburst has just come up in York on gumtree. unfortunately the seller wants about £240 more than it’s worth (and I think about £50 more than they were when new...) have messaged seller. Being ignored 👌🏻

Well...they either do have a hole drilled in them...or some sort of clamp is mounted on the back of the guitar/bass. the quick lok ones I mentioned are more like a wall mount on a stand

Although they may be using mic stands with adaptors inserted into the guitar/bass as they don’t look as cumbersome
