  1. Yeah, I have - thank god. Bought in 2011 as a treat to myself for a messy breakup. Sold in 2013 to get married to childhood sweetheart. Who bought it back for me in 2017. A very special CS 1 of 1 (weird neck profile) 64 jazz bass relic.
  2. Yeah, realistically it was bound to happen. There’s only about 4mm of plastic left over when making the rebate for the pickup. it snapped on the last cut. Serendipitously, within a gnats chuff of where the original basses pickguard is snapped. so...I’m going to leave it as is. And maybe I will age things up a bit more.
  3. Well. Now I know how it happened at least. debating just leaving it like it is. semi replica.
  4. Just gonna leave this here (while I cry into a beer)
  5. You spoke too soon.
  6. Well, that’s that bit. Now the pickguard.
  7. Not much time today. Got a headstart on the control cavity extension.
  8. I’d love one, would have to wear it Entwistle style high up though 🤦🏻‍♂️
  9. I love it. I think a two pickup in Pelham or Inverness green...phwoar.
  10. Did some clever business with @KiOgon to help... the artec is listed as 27.9k, Seymour Duncan Hot for P is 22.9k.
  11. Cool, that was my plan.
  12. Which tool/end for the dremmel? @Geek99 i have a hole to cut in a pickguard tomorrow
  13. Ah to dream...not sure this will be here when i’m Saved back up. lovely. Absolutely lovely.
  14. It’s fine, I’ve found my dremmel thing with sanding belts - thank god.
  15. Exactly. I’m half way between “yes I’m a hero” and “why didn’t I just pay someone else?”
  16. Oh no it isn’t 😂😂😂 (It will be neatened up obviously.)
  17. Well. Lovely guy as he is, don’t think my Luthier bloke understands. To be honest, how he stays in business I’ve no clue. so. I’ve just gone for it. Have done Swiss cheese to chisel to sanding before. But...I’ve got new chisels. So this should be better.
  18. The mitre join is only on the LTD3, Yamaha have a very expensive looking jig to do it as well. the “wife” is just standard 4 bolt.
  19. I think the missing bits of pickguard on the original mean it’s mounted right onto the body.
  20. Stumbling block 1. will have to cut the pickguard out for the pickup, or have ridiculous action. Would rather have a playable bass. Looking at the state of the original wife, I assume this was how it was done anyhow.
  21. No going back now 😂
  22. Probably, it’d be a neck off job, I can live with that - once it’s set, it shouldn’t change about much. And I use the same strings on all basses so there won’t be that to adjust for.
  23. Correction on the P-Bass pickup, it’s not a 1/4lb as first thought, it’s an SPB-2 Hot for P Bass. Better for me 😉
  24. The neck is just a spare 21 fret job (21st is an overhang so the heel is Fender width etc - the 68 tele bass neck is delayed - but wanted the strings on for two reasons. 1 - to have the pole pieces under the octave harmonic 2 - to check spacing, the ebo pickup means it’ll never be spot on perfectly aligned under the strings, but won’t be far off.
