  1. Also we had to replace tickets all the time. I approached the MD with Hand written swing tags - we spent hours a day producing price tickets for stuff. The vat changes, fluctuating strength of the pound vs dollar, costs of fuel affecting delivery charges (at one point we paid £5 a guitar on Fender and £8 a guitar on Epiphone/Gibson) it was fecking soul destroying. The MD said ‘no - it’ll look crap’ All the big companies took turns upping prices, eventually, the store manager just used to spend days on end typing new prices onto tickets.
  2. There’s a lovely 800 which is very similar for sale in the marketplace. Buy it so I don’t have to 😉
  3. Bah humbug. I suppose 1 set is worth a shot - not used them for years.
  4. I left the guitar selling game in 2015. It was always mega hard, and I know guitar shops get slated on here and there’s poor service everywhere etc. Thing is, if retailers with own brand product are struggling you’d better believe anyone re-selling like guitar shops are. In America they ran the MAP (minimum advertised price) System, meaning retailers all advertising the same price and you choose your buying experience and the retailers apply their desired discount. Think Yamaha and Fender got into bother over trying that in the UK. There’s no money in selling music gear - very poor margins and nice retail space is expensive to run. apart from strings and an amp, I’ve not bought new since leaving MI retail (in fact I bought a Breedlove and Sandberg from GBBL when drew ran it - but that was a sale price/px deal)
  5. Oh god, these. When I worked in a shop we signed a big dealership with ESP/Selectron and got 4 of these as part of that. They were incredibly bad. We sold 2 at full retail believe it or not. We then had one on display for about a year and ended up selling it for £399 or some such price. The fourth was used in a giveaway.
  6. Not the most offensive thing I’ve ever seen.
  7. I’m in negotiations, but cites and shipping may have stopped it dead. erm. the bb1100 and 350f (1987) feel very similar, the 300 (1984) has a very different neck profile (like a D) and the 414 feels like a stingray neck finish and has that “dry” quality to it. the 200 was sent to the wrong end of the country but should be here Monday - before I sort it and get ready to send out (I don’t need a 200 and a 300) sound wise, they’re all a bit different with the 1100 being active, 300 a reverse P, 414 passive and 350f fretless. I suspect the 1600 would be closer sound wise to the 414.
  8. I admire your style - I think my amp Has all this covered, but see how I’m fixed on payday, might entertain one.

  10. There’s a guy on Facebook who seems to have loads of old bits. He lists them once in a blue moon. Let me go digging.
  11. There are others out there with black bridges.
  12. Yeah, it’s between 5/10mm. Will review when I’ve not had a glass of wine.
  13. Sort of going off the Yamaha one I have. Want them to match up.
  14. 1977 as far as I can make out. relies on one of the many ridiculous systems. Not as easy with the old Japanese ones - but this sits with a range of serial numbers for bb basses in 1977
  15. Ah this? yeah, I was overzealous with the scalpel 🤦🏻‍♂️ Tim has a pre-loaded template and will just adapt the horn and pickup placement - he makes it sound easy, he’s a clever bloke.
  16. Yeah, it’s derived from the 414/1024/2024 pickguard I have to work with. It is a bit pointed. This was more for the different pickup placement and slight variation in horn width. @TimAl will have the final version right - this is just a template
  17. Experiments with @TimAl what do you think? Wouldn’t be screwed on, just double sided tape.
  18. Yeah will do when I get home, currently in hell (soft Christmas lay centre with the kids)
  19. Just wanted the 350 to have a fretted neck, and the 300 to be fretless. have asked for prices, if it’s stupid - I’ll can the idea. Edit - I didn’t think there would be any trouble. Silly me.
  20. Hahahaha!!! No way. Going to have a luthier shave a few mm out of the neck pocket. And I’ll have to shim the 300 body/350f neck.
