  1. I was only saying to Mrs T the other day how delightful his best is and how utterly shite the rest is.
  2. Needs some more fettling... 87 bb350f 84 bb300 both MIT, slightly different neck pocket depths so the neck swap wasn’t as straightforward as first thought.
  3. It’s got a lovely aesthetic, but the shape isn’t quite as balanced looking as it could be - and a longer scale length (32”-33”?) would match the larger body better.
  4. Maple neck shaped to slim SRMD4 for a lightning fast playing feel 😖
  5. Pacific Ocean Blue by Dennis Wilson. Had mates rave about it for years, and I only listened to it about 3 years ago. It’s rough and a bit odd in places - think he was heavily lubricated during the making of the album. but there are some real gems on it.
  6. He can do quiet too - but when he gets going, Jesus it’s like having your head in a merlin engine.
  7. So, 2 rehearsals in and this combo is being pushed - new drummer is mega loud at points. it doesn’t fart, doesn’t give up and sounds mega - I panicked and struggled on the first night as I was just getting used to the eq on the bb1100s (I’d only had the bass 4 hours) and thought I’d be needing a cab to help. I couldn’t have been more wrong, against a 100w Two Rock Valve guitar amp and 2x12, it manages perfectly with room to spare. Set the EQ pretty flat, and EQ’d a bit from the bass. Think i’ll Entertain a cab at some point - just to unnerve the drummer a bit more. The recessed top handle is mint too as I store picks in there - just need a pint holder attachment 😉
  8. Haha, well one is provisionally sold on - the bb200 I found was usurped by a bb300 to match the bb350f. i think I’ll call it there for now - only having a 90’s BB1500A or BB1600 as a step before saving and pursuing a mid 80’s 3000.
  9. I’m going to hell. 5th bb bought in as many weeks
  10. I wasn’t sure I’d be participating. glad I didn’t throw my hat in the ring. F- for me.
  11. My mate isn’t as handsome as Matt Cardle. He is as good a singer...better guitarist though.
  12. My mate Ant went for the x-factor, he got to the pre production stage and although he was great, he didn’t have a sufficient back story and he was a bit bland looking. So it stopped there. Weird really, he should’ve just said his puppy was run over that morning. *cue sad music* ”this is for Ralph the labradoodle”
  13. Right I’ve met with the basses are like busses syndrome. I needed a fretless Yamaha turning into a fretted one. The price of the job came to about £150/£200. So before I committed to the job I stumbled upon this bass...it needed a few bits sorting. I won it on eBay for £92 plus £17 shipping. it will arrive on Friday. The day I won it, a bb300 turned up on eBay too. I started on a bb300 so decided to get involved with that. I’m now in a bass surplus situation. the bb200 looks like it’s had a life. But seems perfectly functional. its missing control knobs - I’ve sorted the appropriate Yamaha sucked sweetie speed knobs (a £10 charity donation) I have an appropriate “love heart” machine head to replace the missing one too. £130 collected in Manchester, or £10 to ship in UK with the neck off. for an extra £30 it can ship in a hard case. ill be setting it up, cleaning it and putting some barely used strings on it rather than the messy ones it seems to have on. the Thumb rest can be removed or left on - my plan was to refinish the bass, it does seem to have a couple of knocks. Better pictures will follow once I’ve spruced it up. thing is, the bb200 has standard precision style pickups, so is rife for an upgrade - I’d challenge you to find a better ‘P’ for this kind of money.
  14. I might be listing this once it arrives - but repaired machine head etc. The BB300 looks like a goer.
