  1. The gloss sunburst would probably be harder wearing...anyhow, they both look ace. My new/old sunburst 1100s is sat in reception 🤪
  2. They’re both lovely - December is not the one for selling gear...unless it’s a Yamaha BB and I’m nearby
  3. Quite honestly, if it wasn’t for 1980’s Yamaha BB basses, I could’ve had this 🥴
  4. Get it bought so you can have a change of heart in the new year and then sell it to me when I’m more flush...
  5. The left is a bb350f from about 1987, the right is a bb414 with a 2024x pickguard from about 2004/5 with a mad bridge. Yet to be in shot is the bb1100s due on Tuesday
  6. That’s my thought - it’s literally an internal factory movement sticker. From shaping to sanding to sealing to paint to buffing etc - all controlled by barcoding since the late 90’s.
  7. More likely an factory id number, for the paint codes or production line number, has the neck pocket got any stamps in it or anything?
  8. Watched a big jazz band on Thursday and the lad on bass had one of these in sunburst. Sounded mega - also had a Framus Triumph upright which wasn’t as warm/rich sounding
  9. Already had a 425x So this is currently safe. not certain I could resist a 1024x in white
  10. I’ve just started looking for Yamaha 424x’s. i need to grow up. i literally bought a bb1100s at 10pm tonight
  11. Think this is the sign that the hiatus is on a hiatus... first (dep) gig is a week tomorrow. 2nd rehearsal with new band is on Wednesday. new amp arrived on Friday. looks like I’m back in the seat.
  12. Mate. I’m dangerous when I’ve had a few - especially near old yamahas
  13. Haven’t even arranged the courier... im not even blitzed 😂
  14. Oh shite...again, I’ve had wine.
  15. Mine and my wife’s salary paid until our last day without having to actually work for it. sod it, my wife’s salary x2 without us having to work for it. 😂 genuinely though, I wish My youngest didn’t have spina bifida and associated conditions, that’s all, just that, and I’d work for the rest of my life for buttons. edit - material stinky poo? A Wal Mk1 with a maple board and a flamed sycamore top in Sadowsky’s bora Blue burst.
  16. I’ve always used Ashdown, then when iris was born I gave up hope of gigging again and sold a beautiful rig...I had a MK500/408 neo rig, and an RM800 rig. had a beautiful chrome ABM too at one point. Now Iris is settled and her operations are all done (for now) its time. this is a hoot - can’t wait for rehearsal on Wednesday when I don’t have to use a tc bg250 anymore.
  17. both of these were ridiculous bargains. Very happy with both - the neck is off the older one and will have frets soon.
  18. Really sorry to see the big Hughes and Kettner Boba Fett combo leave this week. The pain has subsided... New Ashdown RM EVO II 500 combo has arrived fits in the stupid small boot in my Volvo...and sounds great - and loud. had the rm800 head and 210/115 cabs I wish I’d never sold. Tgis is a great 1 box solution, and the sub is better on this too. not promising a 115 won’t happen...
  19. Some people will do anything to avoid playing in hull...
  20. Quite possibly a 2004, these didn’t begin until 1998 ive had 2 Geddy’s and loved them both. I also do the same with Stingrays (think I’m on about 6 attempts).
