Yeah. This looks like a kid made a Musicman copy for gcse woodwork. Love Vulfpeck - but not in the slightest swayed by this. if one of the cheap Sam ash MM copies (Carlos Robelli) turns up on eBay - I could be swayed.

Yeah, I’m out of the game for a while. A BEX 4C I should have never sold has come up for sale - the guy who bought it has had a custom build based upon it and it’s now gathering dust...not for long 😉

Here’s a funny thing, the last 4 or 5 basses I’ve sold have been collected. The last bass I bought was very kindly dropped off. Every single person (except one who I’ve talked to for years) looked at my white jazz and said “blimey, look at that lovely old thing” or “ooh, how old is that?!” I chuckle and say “2007/8” but it does look very old. it just looks like an old bass - if it was original 1964 it’d be a £10,000+ bass. it’s insured for much less than that. And it had a leave of absence for a while and I had a couple of other custom shop shiny basses, but this one has something special, so the relic bit is just a coincidence for me - if it was shiny, it would still be the best jazz I’ve owned/played - and after 13 years in the trade; I’ve played 1000’s. This one is mine, there are many like it...

That’s fit.

The colour is awesome. Played for 4 hours last night, half on the 1024x (which is unbelievable) and then the second half on the 414. The 414 I have has a posh ABM bridge so it’s as resonant easily. It has a bit more snap (I think the bridge pickup is a gnats chuff closer to the bridge itself) - but they’re both wonderful. i had a 425x and a 415 at the same time a few years ago and preferred the 425, no idea why.

I’ve sent you a link to one I’ve just spotted

That’s why the offer shiny ones too innit? Im not getting into the relic being “pointless” debate as I’ve done it before and it always get shirty as nobody wants to be “wrong”. I have a CS relic jazz, a 35 year old actual relic, a 32 year old “closet classic” with a few little marks. And 4 pristine basses. All picked because they’re ace. I have no predilection for either. But I’m certainly not offended by them. I don’t get the relics some companies do on modern looking basses. But vintage reissue Fender and Gibsons (VOS/Aged) I totally get why they do it.
