  1. They were an over the lacquer waterslide decal, mine had it. Only takes a bit of damp (or polish as stated) and they’re done for. the pickups and Pickguard aren’t original - or at least the solid “EMG” style covers on the pickups aren’t. still a lovely bass.
  2. Fretsonthenet do reissue surrounds. But the Yamaha pickups (if still available) will be about £300 from Yamaha (2024x set)
  3. Damn that’s got potential... must be a good boy... for now.
  4. Yeah. This looks like a kid made a Musicman copy for gcse woodwork. Love Vulfpeck - but not in the slightest swayed by this. if one of the cheap Sam ash MM copies (Carlos Robelli) turns up on eBay - I could be swayed.
  5. Yeah, I’m out of the game for a while. A BEX 4C I should have never sold has come up for sale - the guy who bought it has had a custom build based upon it and it’s now gathering dust...not for long 😉
  6. That’s bloody tempting!
  7. I had the lake placid blue one of these. Nice basses.
  8. Holy shiny shite. That works doesn’t it?!
  9. Think these were Taiwanese or Indonesian and about 2001/2 ish.
  10. BB Guitars from the 80’s? (Called SE)
  11. Wanted to say thanks and 😂
  12. Hhhhhhhnnnngggg 💦
  13. That’s as cool as polar bear sex wee that.
  14. A white 2024mx is the only thing I covet at the moment. Not many about.
  15. Yeah, the two bigger knobs are volume and tone, like a p-bass. The white pickup selector is between the J type and P type pickups. The three smaller knobs and mini switch are for the preamp.
  16. Bought a Yamaha bass from me - heroic chap, pleasure to do business with. thanks again Andy
  17. Offers? I know a few people want it but need to sell their stuff first. It’s also on eBay now...
  18. Now Yamaha own line 6 they do a pacifica version...imagine a bb734 variax bass 😳
  19. Would entertain a trade of a bb414 in wine red in good nick - with a value of £100/£150 against my bass. or a bb424x in red or white £200 ish.
  20. Here’s a funny thing, the last 4 or 5 basses I’ve sold have been collected. The last bass I bought was very kindly dropped off. Every single person (except one who I’ve talked to for years) looked at my white jazz and said “blimey, look at that lovely old thing” or “ooh, how old is that?!” I chuckle and say “2007/8” but it does look very old. it just looks like an old bass - if it was original 1964 it’d be a £10,000+ bass. it’s insured for much less than that. And it had a leave of absence for a while and I had a couple of other custom shop shiny basses, but this one has something special, so the relic bit is just a coincidence for me - if it was shiny, it would still be the best jazz I’ve owned/played - and after 13 years in the trade; I’ve played 1000’s. This one is mine, there are many like it...
  21. That’s fit.
  22. The colour is awesome. Played for 4 hours last night, half on the 1024x (which is unbelievable) and then the second half on the 414. The 414 I have has a posh ABM bridge so it’s as resonant easily. It has a bit more snap (I think the bridge pickup is a gnats chuff closer to the bridge itself) - but they’re both wonderful. i had a 425x and a 415 at the same time a few years ago and preferred the 425, no idea why.
  23. I’ve sent you a link to one I’ve just spotted
  24. That’s why the offer shiny ones too innit? Im not getting into the relic being “pointless” debate as I’ve done it before and it always get shirty as nobody wants to be “wrong”. I have a CS relic jazz, a 35 year old actual relic, a 32 year old “closet classic” with a few little marks. And 4 pristine basses. All picked because they’re ace. I have no predilection for either. But I’m certainly not offended by them. I don’t get the relics some companies do on modern looking basses. But vintage reissue Fender and Gibsons (VOS/Aged) I totally get why they do it.
