  1. Lost my rag and bounced a telecaster off a stage once. Didn’t do that again... turned around in a tight stage which had a rough brick pillar on the edge of the stage (the old pint pot in Salford...) and chipped a rickenbacker headstock... lost a double bass to a singer hoovering the rehearsal room (leant it against the wall and the cord caught the endpin) was in about 12 pieces when I went to see it. let Mansons post me a Tacoma Thundercheif bass in a gigbag...ended up a box of splinters.
  2. Ah, my mate Dave plays guitar with Steve. He’s been playing his Jigsaw Ibanez for a good few years...
  3. Having met him in person, I doubt he’s scared of anything. Lovely man with a slight overtone of “I might headbutt you at any given moment”. Same with Norman Watt Roy, but he’s a bit smaller.
  4. Bobby Vega’s “Shark Bass” - He’s had it since the 70’s
  5. I think he’s all about Gibson now. That strat was a Fernandes, looked like it smelled bad.
  6. Think so, started Sunburst, went natural and then finished up black with gold hardware
  7. I’d say that it’s time to poo or get off the pot. say something or walk, and then say something.
  8. Brian May’s Red Special. Made from a fireplace and a bannister with his dad.
  9. I think it’s the neck-through thing.
  10. Not keen on that bridge pickup...although it’s a tastefully done mod. Saw this on Reverb the other week...but it’s long gone
  11. Yeah. i think I’m going to sort a 300 like my old one, then I want a 3000.
  12. Back in the BB gang. Keeping an eye out for older Japanese ones too, still want to replace my red BB300 which was my first proper working bass.
  13. Boba and the Bounty Hunters sounds like a country band...
  14. You know this will look lovely at your next gig 😉
  15. It’s worth it, the print quality @TimAl manages is astounding. The amp is great too though. Good gigging or rehearsal room amp.
  16. I bought this about six months ago, and it’s a fantastic loud amp with a lovely set of sounds. I’ve decided though that with it being about the size of a 4x10 cab...it’s just a bit too big to cart about - I’ve got some gigs in city centres in the new year and want to use public transport so will need a Roland Cube 60xl or similar, I might even look into In ears this is a 1st generation version with maroon tuffcab type coating on the cab rather than the later black version. Dates it to about 1999-2000. cosmetically it’s ok. Not as far as “tatty”. But it’s had a life before I had it. they came with foam on the grill originally, and notoriously this deteriorates and crumbles. i set out to replace it, and then I remembered that our very own @TimAl makes funky grille cloth. so if you’re into Star Wars, you’re in luck...if you’re not, you might want to invest in something yourself. comes with a lovely cover which had obviously been bespoke made. big chunky side handles - it’s not light, but it’s manageable by yourself. Reassuringly cumbersome. Sounds good on it’s own, but has a big knob with preset eq’s Which work well for their given purpose. Extension cab out, DI out etc. I’m open to trades with some cash to throw at the right thing. wont ship it as I’ve got no idea where I’d get a big enough box, and it’d probably be massively expensive. but I make a mean brew so you can try it out in Manchester M27.
  17. No xlr/DI out. Bit of a waste of time really. is the Direct out balanced?
  18. Had the V in Sunburst. wish I had the funds as this is beautiful
  19. Bought a Yamaha BB from Jono, he was great throughout. Ive bought hundreds of basses and I’ve never seen packing like it - fantastic, no harm was coming to this. deal with confidence as he really is another one of the BC elite.
  20. Satin finish is the rumour 🤷🏻‍♂️
